Day One - DLP at Christmas 2016

Well, November has been hectic and it looks like December is going to be far far busier still, so I apologise if this and the following DLP trip posts are rushed and a bit messy! I'm writing this post quickly at 9:30pm, and I have to be up at 5am for work tomorrow so i'm going to try and write this out quick.

Up ridiculously early at 1:30am, we headed to the Airport around 3am, getting there a lot earlier than we needed to, and having to WAIT at security for it to open! I didn't even realise it closed!

Once we were through security, we headed to the bar for breakfast, picking up sausage sandwiches - they were a bit burnt and not very nice!

The flight went over quick and was full of people in Mickey ears! The family with the ears later really really irritated me on our return journey, I might write about that later!

We ran off the plan, grabbed our cases and headed for the Magical Bus which was due so we had to hurry! It was there waiting for us and just over 30min later we were arriving at the Hotel Santa Fe.

We checked in and as we went to drop off our cases, we noticed one of the TSA locks had come off somehow! We ended up buying a new one from Relay in the train station.

We headed straight out to Disneyland Park, catching the Frozen Welcome as we arrived, we then decided to wait for the Christmas Parade before heading to Hakuna Matata for lunch. I'd been so excited for this parade, i'm so so glad that Max Goof has made a return to Disneyland Paris!

After lunch we headed to the Christmas Shop in the Castle before watching the Christmas Parade a second time and heading over to Buzz Lightyear's Laser Blast for our very first ride of the trip! It's usually Pirates of the Caribbean so theres a ruined tradition!

We then headed to the shops on Main St, where I found the most amazing Christmas Decoration, it was a Chip & Dale ornament with candy canes and gingerbread Mickeys, but there was only one left and it was damaged, sadly, it was the last one in the entire resort and it doesn't look like they're planning on restocking it!

Back to the hotel now that our room was finally ready, we were so so ready for a warm up and to change into our thermals!

As we arrived back in the Park, Magic on Parade was just starting so we decided to watch it one last time before the 25th Anniversary next year. I honestly can't wait for next year's new Parade, Magic on Parade has been my least favourite Disney parade i've ever seen, the song isn't even catchy enough.

It was about time that we picked up our first popcorn of the trip! We opted for the souvenir bucket even though we already have this one, just so we could seal up the popcorn and take it to our hotel - also, you get more in the bucket than the cardboard boxes, so its worth it if you're planning on getting a refill!

We headed towards Main Street Station as we were heading out to Disney Village, we caught Mickey's Christmas Lights on the way and promptly dived into a shop on Main Street as it ended so we could beat the mashed up crowd out of the park. So many people leave before Dreams! but it is Frozen themed at Christmas.

On our way to Disney Village, we headed into the Disneyland Hotel to check out the giant gingerbread house. It took 3000 hours of work to complete!

We then headed out to Disney Village, starting at McDonald's for something to eat before the queues got ridiculous at park closing, we then headed out to do some shopping before the mad rush hit! And stopped by the Relay in the train station to pick up some drinks for in the room - they're around €1 cheaper here than in the Parks, and even cheaper in the vending machines in the station.

We headed back to the hotel for nice hot baths and some much needed sleep! We had some radiator based problems here! The radiator would only come on for a few minutes then cut out, and there was three sets of confusing settings on the heater, all image based - what does person standing by a window mean?! But eventually we got the room warmed up.
