Rome - Day One

Image
Ok, so I really didn't take any notes on this trip and since i'm writing them a week to the day that we got back i'm guessing these posts will be pretty short. But anyway, we were up around 4am to head to the airport, that all went well until we drove into Newcastle and found some major road closes! Eventually we asked a taxi driver, he said he was heading to the airport too and just to follow him, we still got there with enough time so that was ok! Check in queue was pretty short but the security line was the longest i've seen it in a long time! We got through pretty quickly and were soon off to Burger King to grab some pre-flight food before heading to WHSmith for drinks to take with us. The flight went pretty quickly, I think we'd both fallen asleep before take off to be honest! Jet2 don't let you keep electronics on for take off or landing so I couldn't take a time lapse. Still pretty bummed about it. Once we landed

My Birthday Cake

Image
Every year I share photographs of my birthday cake, and this year is no exception! My Mam put this together using a plain photocake from ASDA, some colour flame candles, a printed design from Bonanza and icing decorations from eBay.

Bread Point Bubble Waffle Review

Image
A few weeks ago, Bread Point in Newcastle started selling Bubble Waffles, they only sell them between 11:30-3:30 so it was pretty difficult to get my hands on one, but my fiancé had a day off work so we headed there at lunch time on May 31st. We ordered an Oreo Crunch waffle to share, it consists of oreos, dairy ice cream, Nutella, a cigar wafer and bubble waffle. They're pretty big and we shared one, I don't like oreos but the ice cream mixed with the Nutella was amazing and the bubble waffle tasted like cake. I'll definitely be picking one up whenever we're in Newcastle that early, and let's face it, we probably all left Sunnycon yesterday to go get one too. (writing this pre-con). They cost £4.95 and come in a few different flavour mixes.

It's that time of year again, but this year we've only attended on the Saturday as we have other commitments on the Sunday of the convention. Here's a video of what we saw and got up to today at St James' Park.

Disney Wish List

Image
It's time for another Disney Store (UK) Wish List post! I'm writing this pre-birthday so maybe by the time this post goes live I might actually have one or two things from this list. Scented Holiday Dale Tsum Tsum I couldn't find this one in the three Disney Stores I tried so hopefully someone will pick this up for my birthday as I included it on the lists I was asked for. I managed to get the Chip Coconut version but hes so lonely without Dale. Disney Traditions Lilo & Stitch 15th Anniversary You probably already know I collect both Stitch items and Disney Traditions so this is just an ideal piece to add to my collection. I also really want the Stitch Ugly Ducking Tradition but I don't think it was ever released in the UK so import fees are pretty high and theres always the worry of it breaking on transit. Stitch Patterned Mug I collect Stitch everything, but Stitch mugs especially. But i'm on a 'mug/cup

Movie Review: POTC Salazar's Revenge

Image
My fiancé and I saw POTC: Salazar's Revenge on opening week, here his his /late/ review! # Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales / Salazar's Revenge Before you watch this movie, you might want to unwatch or forget every previous known Pirates of the Caribbean movie. Just a thought. Continuity is literally thrown out of the window in this instalment which is just another swashbuckling adventure which sees Johnny Depp swagger around as Captain Jack Sparrow… only this time he's literally just drunk. And also, how old is he? Because Will Turners son is at least in his early 20s in this movie which would age Jack by 20 years in this movie. Forget that. I didn't say it. So Will Turners son Henry swears that he is going to break his fathers curse, and to do so he needs Jack Sparrow. Also, we have an astronomer named Carina Smyth (not gonna call it a lazy surname but…) who's following a map no man can read that she got from her father which she man

Movie Review: Wonder Woman

Image
We saw Wonder Woman on Saturday night, here is my fiancé's review. Wonder Woman Wonder Woman is set at the end of WW1, but it is not just another war movie. We start off with our protagonist Diana as a child, watching the Amazonians training to fight and wanting to be involved, but the Queen, her mother, is extremely reluctant to say the least. She learns the stories of Zeus and Ares, the God of War, and how her mother cast her from clay and Zeus gave her life. In ancient times, Ares grew jealous of man, whom Zeus created so that the Gods may have somebody to rule over. Ares corrupted man and killed the rest of the Gods, until Zeus stopped him and subdued him. A few years later, Diana is training and witnessed a mans plane crashing, so she dives into the sea to rescue him. The Germans quickly follow through and begin battling the Amazonians, with the man she rescued joining in helping them. Diana learns from the man, who reveals himself to be a British spy named

Creams Newcastle Review

Image
Last month after we visited Newcastle Film & Comic Con we headed over to Creams to finally try one of their ice creams. I got the Pop Fizz Sundae, it was pretty nice, I didn't really like the bubble gum or strawberry ice creams but I can't say no to an ice cream thats covered in popping candy! This is what it looked like when it arrived.. And this is what it looked like when we left.. I was defeated. These ice creams are definitely designed to be shared.

Rome Trip Planning

Image
Our trip to Rome is fast approaching and i've been really slacking when it comes to planning our trip, so I quickly through together a rough itinerary, i'm pretty sure we'd have a ton of spare time left over if we only did whats in our plans so far, so I definitely need to do more research! Have you been to Rome before? What are your must dos, sees and visits?
