Chinese New Year 2017

Image
On Sunday my fiancé and I headed over to Newcastle's China Town for their Chinese New Year celebrations! We experienced it a little differently this year - we usually head there around two hours before the entertainment is due to start to ensure we have a good spot on the barrier for photography and videography, but this year we headed through late, and I didn't even take my cameras (to be honest, the crowds get a bit.. pushy, and with my DSLR being damaged still it just wasn't even worth the risk to take it with me. Here is a video of the Lion, Dragon and Unicorn dance before they headed up towards the Chinese Arch. Theres also a walk around the Chinese Market stalls and mini funfair at the end of the video. My Fiancé Answers Questions

Image
Ok, I don't usually go for these but I saw this being posted around Facebook for a while so I figured we'd give it a go! Feel free to copy this and try it out yourselves! WITHOUT prompting, ask your husband or boyfriend these questions and write EXACTLY what they say. The outcome can be hilarious 😂😂😂 •What is something I say a lot? Can we go to Disneyland? •What makes me happy?  Disneyland •What makes me sad? Me touching your pillow. •How tall am I?  About 5' 3" •What's my favourite thing to do?  Go to Disneyland •What do I do when you're not around? Play with Tim the Cat •What makes you proud of me?  When you do things you struggle with without being asked to do them. •What is my favorite food ?  Hakuna Fries, Burger King and Smash Burger. •If I could go anywhere, where would it be?  I dunno, we've been loads of places, I'd say Shanghai Disneyland or Hong Kong Disn

Baking: Moomin Biscuits

Image
A couple of weeks ago my fiancé and I spent a cold and rainy Sunday baking. We finally used our Moomin cutter we picked up from the Moomin Shop in London's Covent Garden a few years ago. We just used our standard biscuit recipe - 200g Self Raising Flour 100g Margarine/Butter 100g Caster Sugar 1 Egg Decorating - Ready Roll White Icing Icing Sugar To Dust Chocolate Writing Pens First weigh out your ingredients and preheat your oven to 180ºC. Then cream together the caster sugar and margarine. Add the egg and mix well. Gradually add the flour and mix. Roll out your dough onto a floured surface and cut out your Moomin shapes. Bake them at 180ºC for around 8-10min. Set them aside to cool. Lightly dust your surface with icing sugar and roll out your white icing. Cut out Moomin shapes from your icing and stick them to the biscuits using some of the chocolate writing pens, or mix some icing with your icing sugar. Add d

My New Camera Bag

Image
For Christmas I got a new camera bag - the Manfrotto Windsor backpack. It's an amazing backpack that has both space and padding to keep your photography equipment safe and easily accessible and a regular backpack storage section - around the depth of a bottle of water. It also has attachment straps on the front to attach a tripod. It also has a front pocket just above the tripod straps but i'm not entirely sure what its meant to be used for as it's a pretty tight pocket - maybe a notebook or transport tickets/passes. The top section is the regular storage space - i've kept the cardboard inside to keep the bag in shape until I start using it. It doesn't hold a huge amount, but theres enough space for a drink, umbrella, purse, portable phone charger, a few shopper/tote bags and at a push, a compact video camera. Theres also a pocket in there for a MacBook/laptop/iPad. There is a small side pocket that doesn't open on the bott

Redbubble

Image
I thought i'd take this opportunity to share my RedBubble store with you all and tell you a little bit about it. Redbubble is a selling platform where you basically upload your image/photograph/artwork and they do the rest for you. Once you upload your image you'll be able to select different items to print it onto and put those into your shop. When people find your shop and make a purchase, Redbubble will then print and post the item for you and send you a small percentage of the sale price. If you're an avid artist or photographer it's definitely worth starting up a Redbubble store, the payments being minuscule shouldn't put you off, because, let's face it, you would have taken that photograph or drawn that image for yourself anyway. Once you start making sales, you'll be able to see what sort of content sells well for you, then if you want to, you'll be able to create content just to put it on Redbubble (e.g my Danboard images are p

I decided to take up this opportunity to show how far I am on Pokémon Go, before we went to Japan we were doing over 30,000 steps every Sunday playing this game! Heres the main updates from my game: Level PokéDex Baby Pokémon I'm still missing Smoochum, Elekid and Togepi. Gen. NEW Tsum Tsum

Image
A couple of weeks ago my fiancé ordered me some of the new Tsum Tsums. I already had a couple of them (Dutchess and Berlioz) but i'm so happy to add more cats to my collection! I love the Hawaiian sets, we've been planning to get married there since before we were even engaged! The Paris set holds a special place in our hearts too, Paris was the first place we went on holiday together - and we didn't even visit Disney! Follow this blog on BlogLovin' Like us on Facebook

Baking: Giant Turtle Pizza Cookie

Image
Looking back to my 50 things to do in 2017 post, number 35 was to bake more, so when better to start baking than January! We picked up this TMNT Giant Pizza Cookie kit a few weeks ago while we were in Tesco picking some supplies up for our Gingerbread Men and we just couldn't leave the shop without it. We made this cookie kit on New Years Day once I finished work so it was the perfect kick start to the year. I'm not going to post a full instruction post here, chances are, if you buy the kit, you're just going to read the instructions on the packaging yourself! But here is a little photo step by step so you can see how easy it is to make this kit and what the finished product looks like (it tasted pretty good too!). Enjoy! My Disney Engagement

Image
I've never really written about it on this blog, and a few months ago people were asking to see our Disneyland Resort engagement photographs (he got two PhotoPass Photographers in on his plans!) but I always found them embarrassing, but now, i've finally decided to share them with you all! We got engaged one month before our 8th anniversary, back in August 2013 during our trip to California - we spent the majority of it at Disneyland and even became Annual Pass Holders! - we'd gone to Goofy's Kitchen for breakfast and then whilst I was looking around the photography shop in Disneyland, he disappeared! He'd snook off to find a PhotoPass Photographer who then set it up with a second PP Photographer! We took photographs in front of the castle and then were passed on to the second photographer who took us to the wishing well and told everyone else to leave the area. It was magical!
