Star Trek Beyond Review

Image
On Tuesday, my fiancé and I went to see Star Trek Beyond, here is his review! Star Trek Beyond is the next instalment of the Star Trek reboot and, if I am honest, it comes up a little lacking on the last two movies. Nothing is particularly bad about the movie, it just lacks something, some parts of it didn't make sense and maybe they should have concentrated on some of the complexities more than other parts, like the stupid inane jokes which made 50 year old men laugh boisterously in the cinema which it (and I) could have seriously done without… these are the kind of people who laugh at The Big Bang Theory for all the wrong reasons. Back to the movie. So, yeah, there's some good action sequences, there's a lot of explosions considering it's in space and for an explosion to work the way it's depicted there needs to be an abundance of oxygen surrounding the fire, but forget that, it looks ok. Hell, we even have a gay Sulu, which the pessimist in me

Funko POP Wishlist

Image
It's time for another Funko POP! Wishlist! I don't collect as much as I used to, I just add some favourites every now and again, and these definitely fall under that heading! Aloha Stitch This one is top of my list! It's a Hot Topic Exclusive and looks like it's completely sold out already so it's going to be pretty difficult to get our hands on it over here in the UK. Burger Suit Gene I like the Burger Suit version better than the original Gene POP!, it'll go great with the Bob, Linda, Tina, Louise, Gene and Teddy I already have.  Beef Squatch You can't have Burger Suit Gene without Beef Squatch!  Tsum Tsum Foam Key Chain I'm not really sure what I'd do with these but they're just too cute to pass up on! Hopefully we'll get them in stores over here in the UK. Captain Jack Sparrow I don't really want the rest of the Pirates of the Caribbean POPs but Jack Sparrow is a must for everyone's collectio

Sunderland International AirShow 2016

Image
This year I went to the Sunderland International Airshow on both the Friday and the Sunday - although there were problems on both days! On Friday, due to some rain, the entire beach was swarmed with tiny tiny flies, everywhere! I only went for the Red Arrows so it wasn't a huge problem as I didn't stay too long. Then the Sunday, the rain was so bad that they brought the flights forward half an hour. I didn't get anywhere near as many videos of photographs as I wanted to this year, but hey, I don't work Sundays anymore so theres always next year! There wasn't a lot going on this year, no Nintendo tent, no Pot Noodle or other sponsored tents either, just military recruitment stalls. I did over 31,000 steps on the Sunday, and I caught a lot of Pokémon on Pokémon go so, I can't complain really! You can enjoy the videos I did manage to get below. Japan Plan Update

Image
Sakura Hotel We've managed to pay for this in advance, we contacted them before the EU Ref. but sadly they didn't get back to us until after the vote to leave had been announced, meaning the price went up around £100. They charged us in US$ rather than JPY¥ though so the rate wasn't as bad as it could have been. Donald Room With the deposit paid when we booked, and the Yen I got for my birthday and Christmas, we only have around half of this left to pay when we arrive at the hotel, so hopefully the rate will be better by then. I wish hotels in Japan would just charge you on booking!! Tokyo Disneyland Tickets Are finally available! But as we're staying onsite if we wait and buy our tickets when we get to the hotel, we'll be able to pay a little bit extra and park hop on all three days! Hotel Sunny Is booked and our original hotel is cancelled! Hotel Sunny is the closest you can get to Nippori Station, so it's ideal for getting the train

Baking Day - Mickey Mouse Shaped Cupcakes

Image
I finally got around to using the cupcake mould that we picked up in Disneyland Paris last month so here is what I managed to do with it! First off, the packaging it comes in states you shouldn't grease the tray with butter or oil, so I tried with water first, like you do with cake pop moulds, and it was a huge failure! So with the rest of the cake mix, I first greased the tray with Wilton Cake Release - its oil based - but it worked well, the mould is a little awkward so the ears were a little difficult to get out properly, but the cake release definitely helped! The moulds are really deep so I didn't get to decorate these the way i'd originally planned - maybe next time, when I can use a full cake mix and maybe cut down the cakes into half. Keep checking back to see the properly decorated Mickey cakes once I get round to it! I might just use cookie cutters and cut out heads like I did with the hidden Mickey cake, it might be easier! Image
It's been almost two years now since I started collecting Disney Tsum Tsums and I have started to cut back a little as we're just running out of places to display them along with our vinylmation and POP! collections, that being said, I couldn't resist the Monsters Inc collection, so here they are! Ghostbusters Review

Image
Last Tuesday my fiancé and I went to see Ghostbusters, here is his review! "So we went to see the Ghostbusters reboot which features four women(!) as the main characters. It starts off pretty slowly and throughout the movie it picks up pace, culminating in a final battle to save the world, which appears to be mainly New York. So we start with Abby Yates losing her job because of a video surfacing of her saying she believes in ghosts, and starting to work with Erin Gilbert and an engineer named Jillian Holtzmann, who builds all their tech, and they start tracking paranormal activity. They hire a receptionist named Kevin who says one of the best lines in the movie about a fish tank, then a streetwise Patty Tolan joins after seeing a ghost and calling the Ghostbusters for help. They track all of the activity back to a creepy guy who is building a portal under the intersection between two ley lines which he plans to use to bring hoards of the undead to the

Pokémon Go!

Image
[Copyright Nintendo/Niantic] With the game officially releasing in the UK this morning I thought it was about time I wrote a little post about the game with all the hints and tips i've picked up along the way and from other trainers i've met on my adventure since last Friday evening. Catch the Pidgey! You only need 12 Pidgey candy to evolve, and you'll get 500XP for that, so catch every Pidgey you see, and keep on evolving them to level up your character - the higher level your character gets, the stronger Pokémon you encounter. Lucky Eggs Save these up until you've got a few Pidgey's to evolve, and you'll get 1000XP for every one you evolve! It last half an hour, so any Pokémon you catch in the remaining time, you'll get 200XP for. Pick a team! I joined Team Valor, the majority of my friends had already joined the team and the game just doesn't really work that well if you're playing on your own. For

Disney Store Wishlist

Image
It's time for another Disney Store Wishlist! I'm busy saving money for my upcoming trip to Japan - and thanks to all the leave voters, i'm going to need more money than originally planned (my hotels went up over £100 each!*) So here are six Disney Store UK things I want, but I won't be buying just yet. Japan get all the cute things anyway!   Sully Disney Tradition This would be a lovely addition to our Disney Tradition collection! We already have a Mike & Sully Monsters Uni figure, and I think this one would go great with it. Arribas Bros Stitch Glass I love this glass! I don't usually buy the glasses at DLP, but after coming across this Stitch one on the Disney Store website I instantly fell in love with it! The design is so nice. I don't really have space in the cupboard for another glass though, sadly.   Stitch MXYZ Socks I love these Stitch socks, but they're a bit bright! I'd still get them if I saw them in-st

DIY Candy - Popin' Cookin' Takoyaki

Image
Continuing on from my Kracie Happy Kitchen Donuts post, here is the Kracie Popin' Cookin' Takoyaki kit! I didn't actually try this one as the smell was too much for me! (its had a curry smell). But it was definitely fun to make and reminded me of our trip to Japan. Subscribe to me on YouTube to see the DIY Candy and Japan Trip September 2016 videos before I post about them here! And don't forget to check out the videos from our 2015 Trip where we visited Osaka, Okunoshima (Rabbit Island), Miyajima, Kyoto and Tokyo! Follow this blog on BlogLovin' Like us on Facebook
