A Quick Update

Image
It seems as though i've not posted anything in over a month now so I just wanted to post a quick little update to say what i've been up to and whats coming. So my last travel based posts were about our Disneyland Paris trip way back in August, since then we've spent a weekend in London, two weeks in Florida and had another trip to Disneyland Paris to see the new Christmas shows they've added in this year.  Hopefully i'll get those posts done pretty soon, I probably won't post anything about London as it was mostly a shopping trip, and Florida posts will probably be more compact, I did take notes but fourteen posts about a trip that happened several months ago just isn't going to work out after this much time has passed.  Our Disneyland Paris Christmas trip will probably be written about before Christmas so it fits in with the season. We currently have Florida and Disneyland Paris videos going up weekly over on YouTube . You can see

NFCC October 2017

Image
Last month NFCC returned to Newcastle's Metro Radio Arena, and as usual we picked up a pair of early entry tickets for the Sunday event. Our day got off to a pretty bad start - Metro delays, major Metro delays. We ended up having to take an Uber, and I got charged £1.50 for tapping in at the station and then back out after they announced the delays. We arrived around 10:15, so still had 45min of early entry time, the event is pretty impractical now and plenty of people were being turned away - there is a no backpack rule and the event didn't feel the need to inform guests on the website or in the confirmation email. The Arena was empty this time round, and only half as many stalls, they did have a Big Bang Theory photoset up - but we couldn't see any prices displayed anywhere. 11am came and we expected the place to get flooded with people like it usually does. It didn't. We left not long after, there wasn't much of a queue when we left - just gro

Movie Review: Thor - Ragnarok

Image
My fiancĂ© and I went to the cinema last night for the first time since we saw Cars 3 in July! Here is his review of Thor: Ragnarok. The third instalment in Thor’s corner of the Mar vel Cine matic Universe starts off with Thor finding himself in a bit of a predicament, caged and chained by Surtur, the fire demon. It transpires that this was all a ruse to get information and he quickly breaks his chains, “destroys” Surtur, steals his crown and brings it back to Asgard, where Loki has fooled everybody into believing that he is Odin. Thor, however, has been told by Surtur that Odin is not on Asgard and sees straight through the ruse, leading to them briefly visiting earth and encountering Dr. Strange and then meeting Odin who promptly dies. This all seems like spoilers but… it’s not. Thor’s sister Hela then returns from banishment and destroys Mjölnir with her hand. Loki screams to return to Asgard, leading to them being transported, with Hela who sends Thor and Loki out o

Disneyland Paris' 25th - Day Four

Image
The final day! We actually made it to EMH for 8am according to my notes! I'm not entirely sure I believe them though, I have a feeling it was 9! We had two rides on Buzz, picked up some last bits of shopping, and then headed back to the hotel to finish packing and check out. Once that was done we went to pay a visit to the Dragon under the castle, we rarely visit here anymore which is pretty sad really. We headed over to POTC, but it was closed so we went on Phantom Manor and then had an early lunch at Hakuna Matata because we'd need to have dinner early too to fit in with my tablets. After lunch we used our Hotel FastPass on Peter Pan and tried again to ride on POTC, but it was still down. We headed over to Fantasia Gelati for a nice ice cream, although this time they didn't give me a years supply of smarties alongside it. After our ice cream we went on It's a small world and then used a fastpass on Buzz Lightyear,

Disneyland Paris' 25th - Day Three

Image
Our morning was pretty much the same as the day before. We made it into the parks for 8:30am and managed to do Buzz Lightyear twice and have a ride on Star Tours before rushing over to the Adventureland rope drop - only to find Pirates of the Caribbean was down! So we headed over to Phantom Manor which I think was possibly the first time we'd been on it this trip. We then headed back down to Main Street and shared some 25th anniversary star nuggets at Casey's Corner before heading over to Walt Disney Studios to watch the new Star Wars shows and do some shopping. I'm still grumpy that they closed my two favourite shops in the entire park and that Vinylmation are being phased out! We headed back to the hotel to drop off our shopping and then headed back into Disneyland Parc, it was raining heavily again so we rushed over into Hakuna Matata for lunch, when we came out it was still raining heavily so we picked up some ponchos and headed down to the Cabl

Disneyland Paris' 25th - Day Two

Image
Now, I know its been over a month since I posted the first day, so i'm not going to promise that this post will be great, my notes are pretty basic and its been two months since our trip! But here we go anyway... We got up early, my fiancé headed to breakfast (he took a video of the huge selection of the Disneyland Hotel's breakfast buffet, i'll be posting that up on Youtube early next year so make sure to subscribe! My Disney World trip videos are going up every Thursday at the moment and from the end of November there will be a Disneyland Paris Christmas trip video going up every Sunday!) I had picked up something the night before and put it in our fridge for my breakfast as I need something full of fat and protein to take with my tablets. We got ready and rolled into the parks at 8:30am - yup, thats right, even though we were in the room right above the park entrance we still couldn't make it into the parks for 8am! Our EMH rides were Buzz Light

Disneyland Paris' 25th - Day One

Image
So, I have been putting off writing this for a while now! Mostly because I didn't write any notes for our first day for some reason! So, from what I can remember - We were up pretty early in the morning - around 2am I think! Our flight was just after 6am so we headed off to get to the airport by 4am. The baggage drop off queue was pretty long, but we got through security pretty quickly and were soon in departures getting something to eat before our flight. The journey was pretty uneventful, and we rushed through to the immigration desks - now, I know, you're on holiday, take it easy, but no! If you're flying into a major airport you should rush to these desks for a good place in the queue. We were one of the first from our flight to reach the queues, and, despite still being able to access the EU queue right now, we were stood in that line for around an hour! Once we were through we grabbed our cases and rushed off to the Magical Shuttle which was there r

50 Things in 2017 - Update

Image
It's been a whole month since our last 50 things update! We've crossed off another five things, but since theres only a few months left of the year now i'm pretty worried we won't be able to complete the entire thing! (probably won't be doing 30 and 31 to be honest. Scrapbooking is an expensive and messy hobby and we're in the middle of sorting out our house! We finally have a new fence and an outside tap!. [Probably won't be lucky enough to do 22 either]). What we crossed off in the past month: 3. Visit Disneyland Paris 24. Watch Fireworks 43. Visit The Quayside 44. Tynemouth Market 48. Go on more days out Here is the full list of what we've crossed off and what we have left to complete: 1. Visit Berlin 2. Visit Rome 3. Visit Disneyland Paris 4. Visit Walt Disney World 5. Make a chocolate photo frame 6. Save money 7. Declutter 8. Post a YouTube Video every week 9. Bake a heart shaped cake 10. Go to Chine
