Saving For A Disney Holiday ~ Tips

Image
A Disney trip doesn't need to break the bank, but I do have a few tips for you to build up that spending money! Savings Tin Design yourself a Disney themed savings tin ( tutorial here ), its something all the family can get in on if you have small children - they can decorate with Disney stickers or glitter. I personally put all of my change in this tin when ever I come home, except for the occasional £1 coin as I use those for my lunch at work. At last check I had just over £30 - approx. 41€ or $45 Offers Always check the offers on the Disneyland Paris website if you're looking to book up, the offers will also tell you when that one ends (a new one, or a Flash sale usually starts around a week after an offer ends). Other country websites You can book through the websites for other countries if they have a better offer, all of your tickets and hotel info will come via email, just use Google Chrome to translate the website and email for you. Or y

Tomorrow!

As this post goes live, i'll just be about to clock out from work on my last shift before we head to Barcelona! We're leaving tomorrow, and no I haven't packed yet. Was leaving it until after work the night before we fly a bad decision? Probably. We're leaving around 7am in the morning, and I'd kind of like some sleep too, since I didn't get much last night! I have a few posts scheduled while we're away so keep checking back and you can always do the usual... Follow me on Twitter Instagram Follow this blog on BlogLovin' Like us on Facebook

Early Anniversary Celebration

Image
We had set a spending limit for this anniversary, which is odd as its our 10th! But I ended up going over budget anyway. This is what I got him - Invader Zim issue 1 Back when I was in College, Nickelodeon started airing Invader Zim again and my fiancé had never seen it before. It soon became our show and he got me the Invader Zim box set (expensive!) and a multiregional DVD player to play it on earlier this year. Oni Press recently started a new Invader Zim comic series, and nowhere in the UK, well Newcastle/Sunderland seems to stock it! So I had to order this one online, pretty expensive for a $4 comic, but he's worth it. Now all we need is the Gir Funko POP! figure. Bodum Travel Press Set He already owns two French Press sets and has recently started saying how much of a coffee snob he's become since he started drinking coffee again (he went on a coffee ban after I renamed him Grumpy. Yes, like the dwarf! so every opportunity I get, he tends to get something Gru

Okunoshima Rabbit Island

Image
I know my trip to Japan was over a month ago now but I just can't believe I didn't share any photographs from Okunoshima/Rabbit Island here! I did share my video though and wrote about my trip to the Island here . Before and since returning from my trip i've seen new videos and photographs from people visiting the Island and i've got to admit, i'm pretty sad that we visited during August as the Island was so busy and hot that the bunnies were either already full of food or too hot to come out of the shade. We did have a great time though, but yesterday my fiancé and I already started discussing returning to Japan to see more of the country as two weeks really wasn't enough, we barely even scratched the surface of Tokyo never mind our Kyoto, Hiroshima and Osaka where we only had a day each! I'd love to see Mt Fuji topped with snow too. Here are a few of my photographs from Okunoshima, after looking through my photo album I realised most of the

Disneyland Paris

Image
My posts are still quite a bit behind because of all the Japan trip report posts, but back on the 6th of September, I finally managed to convince my fiancé that we need to go back to Disneyland Paris for Christmas season! Spending ban? What spending ban? We're going at the end of November when everything Christmas will be in full swing and its just before I pick up all of the Christmas overtime at work. Our first trip to a Disney park was in December of my final year at University. We visited Disneyland Paris and it was my fiancé's first ever Disney trip. It was so cold but so magical. There was so much detail put into everything, from the lighting on the castle to the snow on Main Street, the only thing that is upsetting me about our trip this Christmas is that Fantillusion was cancelled and its my favourite parade! I think the last time I got to see it was our last Christmas trip. Like our first Christmas trip where Duffy Bear had just been released in Disney

Cat Content

Image
You may have seen my post when I was in Japan about my female cat called Tim  if not then theres the link :) I've not posted on Tim's daily photograph blog since my internet went down after the thunderstorm a few weeks ago so I thought I would share my new Tim photograph here. I took this photograph of Tim a few days ago and I just loved how it turned out, it could be the filter but I just think the colours work perfectly. They're so soft which goes well with a cosy, sleeping Tim Cat. Tim didn't react very well to me going away, which is strange as she's usually fine with it and just a bit more cuddly when I come home, but after Japan I rushed home from the airport to see my little munchkin for her to react by looking at me then walking away! She's not been happy with me since then, she's started sleeping places that aren't in my room and jumping on top of my wardrobe which she knows is a big no-no! But she's starting to come ar

Disney Tsum Tsum Game

Image
I have recently started playing the Disney Tsum Tsum game again! Although, annoyingly the day after I moved from being a Guest to having a LINE account, they suddenly put on a offer where if you joined LINE you got an alien Tsum!! My fiancĂ© took advantage of that offer.  I recently completed my first Bingo! card, and i'm three or four stamps away from finishing the Oswald card, but I need two new specific premium tsum tsums to be able to complete it! Dale is my favourite tsum tsum from my collection, hes got the highest skill in my collection and gets me the biggest scores. Although Jessie and Sven are my main premium tsum tsums at the moment as they earn me the most coins so i'm playing between the two of them right now - I need to buy at least two more premium boxes to finish my Bingo! card! Funko POP! Collection Update

Image
Its time for another Funko POP collection update! I have three more since my last update - Muttley (Preordered before Japan) DOMO Superman (Bought from the NHK shop in Japan) Ant-Man (Collectors Corps) (Bought from Friend) I don't have a photograph of this one yet as i've still not picked it up from my friend or gave her her Japan Exclusive Tsum Tsums yet! Next on my list is the Bob's Burgers set, but i've not yet preordered them, i'm hoping to be gifted them as six holidays in a year really wipes out your spare money. Disney Loyalty Pass Prizes - Empire Cinema

Image
If you're not already aware what the Disney Loyalty Pass with Empire Cinema was, you can read about it in my previous blog post here .  On Thursday my prizes finally arrived after just over one month since posting out our ticket stubs. They didn't send out any email confirmations or shipping confirmations or anything so when this Disney box arrived I was panic stricken - what have I been buying now?!? After cutting carefully along the gaps in the box (I didn't want to damage the tape, I love it :') ) I opened it up - by this point my cat was also wondering what i'd been buying now - and this is what we saw! At this point it was obvious to me that I was finally getting my prizes (I was beginning to think maybe the card was lost in the post or they'd run out). It came with a letter explaining I was getting a copy of Big Hero 6 on DVD because the bag had been discontinued. I'm a little disappointed as I did want the

10 Days To Go!

Just 10 days to go and I am not ready for this holiday! A month between holidays for four months in a row just doesn't leave enough time to plan anything. We bought travel insurance for the year before we went away in February so we're sorted for that. We have all of our toiletries and clothes. I still need to pick up some snacks for on the plane but its still a little early to do that yet. I was going to order a travel pass but it takes 12 days to arrive so i'm not sure if I want to risk it, it also seems cheaper to buy it there as postage is £9! I bought a new folder to take all of our paperwork away in, usually I just use a box file because i've never really been a fan of envelope divider wallets, but after picking one up from Poundland for our trip to New York (I wanted a cheap one as its the third file i've bought for this trip and i've already thrown away the other two!) as we needed to keep things separate, I found it was much easier tha

99 Days 'Til Christmas!

Image
99 Days 'Til Christmas! Well there it is, as of today we're down to double digits in our countdown to Christmas. It still seems far off but its going to creep up quickly from now on so here are a few ways you can get organised, especially if you're already starting to feel the Christmas spirit creeping in. Advent Calendars These have been on sale for a week or two already at selected shops. So far i've only seen them in the Poundland stores in the varieties of Peppa Pig, Minnie Mouse, Me to You, The Simpsons, Marvel, Spider-Man and Thomas The Tank Engine. Sweet Gifts The sweet and sugary treat gifts and share boxes are now hitting the shelves and some of them have great deals on them already. For as low as £5 you can buy your family sized share tubs of Mars Celebrations and Cadbury Heroes from ASDA, Tesco, and Morrisons.  Debenhams also have their Christmas sweet gifts section open (in Newcastle it is on the top floor near th

90s Nickelodeon - The Splat

Image
A few days ago Nickelodeon announced something big! Nickelodeon have announced via a new YouTube channel and video (see below) that they will be launching a brand new channel dedicated to bringing back all our favourite shows from the 90's. Its not been announced wether or not we'll get it here in the UK, but I sure hope we do! I'd give anything to watch Rocket Power again, and as happy as I am that I can see the original Rugrats in the teaser trailer I hope they have the newer series with Kimi, and even All Grown Up!. How great is it that there is finally going to be a place to see all of our old favourites? So now we don't need to search YouTube for theme songs and show intros whenever we're having a nostalgic feeling at night. Thats all I have to say about this now, but please Nickelodeon, bring this to the UK too! Am I the only one with the Angry Beavers intro music stuck in their head right now? Follow this
