LONDON 2017: Day Two

Image
We just had a short day in London today and being a Sunday we thought we'd take it slow and have an easy, relaxing one too! We got up around 7:30am and headed down for breakfast. They've changed the system again from last year so now if you're getting a full breakfast you're in a smaller more intimate setting room. It felt so awkward though, I prefer the rowdy free for all breakfast buffets. After breakfast we headed back to finish packing and watched some tv before checking out at 11am. We then headed off to Covent Garden at to have brunch at Shake Shack, I really wish we had one closer to home! We spent the rest of the day around Leicester Square, it was a on-off rainy day and we didn't really want to venture too far away with our train being just before 5pm. We watched some street performers, a dancing Spongebob Squarepants in the Nickelodeon store and had a browse around M&Ms World and for the first time we didn't actually buy anything

LONDON 2017: Day One

Image
We were up early to catch our train which was due just before 7am! So I think we both had around 4 hours sleep at most. The train ride was pretty boring, I tried to nap, and there was a baby and toddler sat opposite us at our table. We charged our phones up throughout the ride and played some Disney Emoji Blitz. Once we got to Kings Cross we headed for the tube to Russell Square and rushed over to the Royal National Hotel to drop off our case and my coat as it was around 16ºC! We couldn't really have asked for much better weather. We then headed over to Leicester Square to get something to eat, the queue was pretty big in Shake Shack so we headed over to our usual eating spot - Burger King. It's not quite as special now that we have Coke Freestyle in Newcastle now too. After we ate we spent a couple of hours going around Carnaby Street (there was nothing nice in Vans though!), Forbidden Planet (picked up some new Disney keyrings), Covent Garden (Moomin Shop) a

BoConcept Home Wishlist

Image
Recently we've been getting quotes to fix up our garden and house, so this seems like the perfect time to finally look around and decide what new furniture we want. We always find ourselves looking through the BoConcept section in Fenwick whenever we're on the furniture floor (it's also where the Seasonal Christmas Floor opens) so I thought i'd have a little look through their catalogue and on their website for the things we absolutely need. Chiva Coffee Table This coffee table is both stylish and practical with two storage compartments. It would be perfect for storing game console and tv controllers, snacks, small sewing kits and anything else you may need in your living room. We're going for a black and while modern theme for the majority of our house so this would be perfect. We'd have to get rid of our armchair to fit this in though, but I think it would look great under our living room bay window. Copenhagen Desk

50 Things To Do In 2017 Update

Image
Before the New Year was officially rung in, I wrote up a list of 50 things I wanted to do in 2017, and as it's now March 11th I figured it's a good time to post an update on how far i'm getting on with the list. So far i've crossed off (either fully or partially) - 5. Make A Chocolate Photoframe 6. Save Money 7. Declutter 8. Post a YouTube Video Every Week 9. Bake A Heart Shaped Cake 10. Go To Chinese New Year Events 17. Get My DSLR Repaired (I sent it to Nikon, but APM said they'd do it for 1/3 of the price so i'm taking it there now!) 23. Go To The Beach (We've been once so far this year and didn't step foot on the sand) 26. Holiday Planning 28. Buy Less Junk (Fits in with #6) 34. Keep On Top Of The Blog (I'm going to stop the 2 day schedule though, it's taking the fun away) 35. Bake More (So far we've baked cookies four times, 2 heart shaped cakes, garlic bread, pr

Logan Film Review

Image
SPOILER WARNING!! LAST CHANCE TO AVOID SPOILERS.   Logan is the last movie that Hugh Jackman is doing as Wolverine, and what a movie it is. Set in the distant future of 2029, a visibly aged Logan / Wolverine is seen as a staggering alcoholic who's healing capabilities are fading, his body seemingly being slowly poisoned by the Adamantium fused to his bone. He is using a job as a chauffeur and (implied) people-smuggler to get drugs across the border to quell Professor Xavier's seizures, with the worlds most powerful mind warped by a degenerative brain disease which is hinted to be either ALS or Alzheimer's, although not confirmed. Also looking after Xavier is Caliban, played perfectly by Stephen Merchant, his sarcastic wit providing a perfect counterfoil for literally whoever he is put opposite in this movie, with everybody else being so serious. Their arrangement is thrown into disarray when a Mexican woman keeps bothering him to take her

Decluttering Update

Image
It's finally March so its about time I update you all again on the decluttering part of 2017's to do list. A couple of weeks ago we went through the loft/attic and ended up with a huge pile of things to list on eBay, we did throw and donate a few things away too and I gave my Gatomon figure away to a friend. We went through the drawers in the bedroom and threw away so many old letters and "we're not sure what this is off/from" bits and pieces. We've also organised our memories that we found in the drawers too (photos, letters, cards we made each other when we first got together etc). I also threw away a few pairs of pyjamas, I hate throwing away pyjamas, they're pretty much my favourite thing in the world. My fiancé made a start on his office but i'm not too sure how far he got on with that. I still need to go through my wardrobe again but i'm so bad at throwing away clothes. Our goal for this month is to sort t
