FUNKO POP!

Image
I have recently got into collecting Funko POP! figures, I don't intend on collecting a lot of them, just the ones I want the most. Right now I want a Magneto, Armoured Baymax and God Goku. My 'Grail' POP! is the San Diego Comic Con exclusive unmasked Tony Stark, if I could only get one more figure for the rest of my life, it would be that. I've collected a few of them before now - the original Stitch, Steamboat Willie, Chococat, Badtz Maru, Sheldon Cooper and I bought my fiancé the Roger Rabbit POP for Valentines day. Since then I have collected these: I NEEDED this set as I am a huge Stitch fan, I bought them from Animez. I had to order 626 from Pop In A Box, it took a while to get here but i'm so glad he's in my collection now. I bought Dancing Groot so he can bobble along on my dashboard, but i've still not figured out how i'm going to stick him on there. I saw this Hiro Hamada on Zavvi when I ordered Gro

London Instagram Highlights

Image
I didn't take many photographs while I was in London, which is weird because I usually take a lot! Here are the highlights from the SeaLife Aquarium. My favourite bits were walking through the tunnel and the penguin area but I loved watching the turtles too, I didn't get a good photograph of them, but they're in my aquarium video. There was one turtle trying to slowly climb on top of another turtle, the other turtle wasn't too happy about it!  The seahorses and jellyfish were fun to watch too, their movements are so interesting. London Haul

Image
I've never actually done a haul post before, they're not really my thing but I like to read them funnily enough! I'm not going to show everything I bought (mainly because I didn't take any photos of the things I bought on our last day!) but here is the majority of what we spent our money on over our weekend in London: Namco FunScape Technically, we didn't buy these (or the keyrings and sweets we got on our final day) as we paid to play the games and then bought these prizes with the tickets, but anyway!. These sweets were a nice treat for on the long, and slightly delayed train home. Cyber Candy So we practically bought the shop... There wasn't as much that I wanted this year compared to last year (no Dragonball Z cola, NeriAme or Popin' Cookin') but I still found quite a few things I wanted! A few things in the photo are for my Mam and Brother though so its not all for me! Cool Britannia Cool Britannia is the

Royal National Hotel

Image
You may have already seen my previous review of this hotel over here , and this trip was pretty much the same so I don't have too much to write about it. I did take a tour video so you can see around the room, you can see that below. The hotel is well located, just a few minutes walk away from a tube station, Tesco, Waitrose, Nando's, Yo Sushi and a GBK. Check in is at 2pm and checking your luggage into storage is free when you're checking in, and 50p an item when checking out. The view from our room wasn't very good, we've never had a good view from the room in this hotel yet. The beds are comfortable, and the rooms have a good amount of space. There is a hairdryer and kettle provided along with tea and coffee, which they top up daily if you use the ones provided. They have vending machines in the lobby way for drinks, snacks and icecream but you'll find your drinks and snacks cheaper in the nearby Tesco (opposite the tube station). At

London Day Three

Image
We got up around the same time as yesterday for breakfast and then finished packing our cases while we watched Jeremy Kyle - it was a gloomy day and a raining a little bit so we didn't want to check out too early as we would be stuck out in the cold once we left! Our first stop was Tokyo Toys as there is a Naruto plush i've wanted from there for ages but just never got it, but I finally have it now although its still in the Tokyo Toys carrier bag as i've not finished unpacking half of the stuff we bought! Because of the badish weather over the weekend i'd had to leave my photos for the final day as the forecast was supposed to be sunny and no rain, but just as I was finishing my first set of photos by the London eye it started raining! The rain wasn't very heavy though and it soon stopped. While it was raining we headed into Namco FunScape and played a few games, and I of course got a fresh candy floss! it was a lot quieter today than during the weekend

London Day Two

Image
We got up around 7:30am and got ready before heading down for breakfast, as it was a Sunday we decided to take things slow as nothing was due to open until 10am. Our first stop of the day was Covent Garden where we headed to Shake Shack for lunch before heading down towards the London Eye to visit the Aquarium as we've never been there before. We had already bought our tickets to London's SeaLife Aquarium at our hotel's ticket office so we went straight to the priority entry queue and within a few minutes we were in! Although it was pretty busy because it was a rainy Sunday, and it was also Mother's Day, it didn't take too long to see everything, although you did have to queue up at each viewing window. Theres quite a lot to see here and there was also a SpongeBob SquarePants movie event going on for little children but that was just a temporary thing and I think its only on for another week or so. After the aquarium we headed next do

London Day One

Image
As we were catching an early train from Sunderland to London we had to get up at 4:30 in the morning, that wouldn't be too bad only neither of us could sleep! I struggle to get to sleep quite often, but my fiancé was stuck in a big conversation with a lot of people he went to primary school with after he posted a photo of their year one class photograph. The conversation is still going on now! I'd tell you how many comments the photo has so far but Facebook seem to have removed the comment count. The train ride was pretty uneventful, and boring, for most of the journey we couldn't get any mobile internet and the free wifi on the train is only worth about 15minutes of online time. We had taken comics and the iPad to keep us entertained over the journey but in the end we never took them out of the bag and spent the entire journey talking about a website we've been discussing relaunching. We got to the hotel at around 11am, as usual we were staying at the Roya

Japan Trip: Update

Image
I've been pretty busy lately planning and preparing for our trip to Japan in August, this is what i've come up with so far but i'll be tweaking and changing it a lot over the next couple of months i'm sure. I've left the last day blank for now, i'm not sure wether to revisit DisneySea, leave it open to revisit favourite places, or to keep it mostly free for anything we run out of time for during the other days or fill it with other new places and experiences. I've also started compiling a list of spends that i'll either need to sort out before we go (hotel, rail pass, Disney tickets etc) and some that i'll just need the cash for when I arrive. Here is what i've researched so far: Rail pass £175 normal /   £234 green car reserved seats Osaka hotel – Westin  £324 Disney tickets £78 Ghibli £6/¥1000 tickets only NamjaTown   £3/¥500 Jworld   £5/¥800 admission or   £15/¥2600 for unlimited attraction pl

Mother's Day

Image
Although I'm not actually at home for Mother's Day - i'm currently in London with my fiancé as I just picked a random weekend, not too close to Comic Con, without checking the date of Mother's Day first! I'm actually pretty gutted that I finally got a Mother's Day off and I won't be home! I've been trying to get one of since I started work and i've never been able to get it until now - I thought I would share what I got for my Mam and Nan. As the oldest child its up to me to pick out and get the presents off me and my brother, and this year I really struggled with it as my Mam's birthday isn't too long before Christmas i've ran out of good options on the market after getting her birthday and Christmas presents so she got more perfume, as if the perfume she got for her birthday (same one) and Christmas (Jean-Paul Gaultier) have run out by now (I doubt it!). We got my Mam the following: A Kindle voucher. I

A Duffy Bear Collection: New additions

Image
Although I haven't yet done a full collection post of my Duffy Bear collection, here is a update with the two new bears I got in Disneyland Paris. The bear on the left is just a plain Duffy, I bought a Stitch costume in Disney World and planned on buying the Duffy from the Disney Store when we got back to safe space in our three cases, but when we got back we found Duffy isn't available in the UK anymore! So we had to wait until we visited DLP to pick up a new Duffy. Here he is in his Stitch costume. The bear on the right is the new, exclusive Chef Duffy, bought from the new Ratatouille area of Walt Disney Studios, he's a little smaller than the regular sized Duffy. Check back for more Duffy Bear posts soon as I sort through and share my collection here. And subscribe on Blog Lovin' to keep updated with my posts, coming later in the year i'll be heading to Japan where I plan on picking up a Shellie May, Gelatoni and

Disney Tsum Tsum

Image
Disney Tsum Tsums are little stackable plushie toys from the Tsum Tsum game app (if you don't have it - get it!) and up until February 15th you could only really get these in Japan and then in the American Disney Stores and Parks - but with a smaller range compared to Japan. Japan have recently got an exclusive Big Hero 6 Tsum Tsum set and it sold out on release day, i've heard they are also limited edition, so now all I can do is hope that there will be some left when I visit Japan in August! Below you can see my Tsum Tsum collection so far along with where I got them: Walt Disney World Disneyland Paris Clintons Sunderland - 15th February Newcastle - 3rd March Are you collecting Tsum Tsum? Which ones do you have? Follow this blog on BlogLovin'

Big Hero 6

Image
My fiancé and I have been to see this movie twice so far, we opted for 2D both times as I think it would be too uncomfortable to put 3D glasses on top of regular glasses, i've only recently started wearing my glasses all the time when i'm out so its been a while since we saw a 3D movie. I am tempted to see the new Avengers movie in 3D though! The movie is definitely worth seeing, its perfect for the whole family, and much better than Frozen! There are some tear jerking moments, a few of them actually, and even in 'Feast' the short intro clip before the movie! I won't say too much about it because I don't want to spoil it for anyone who hasn't seen it yet but the story and artwork are amazing. I found the movie really motivational and inspiring, although I tend to find most movies motivate and inspire me, especially Iron Man and other Marvel movies. It must be the way they depict technology in the movies. The first thing I did after seeing t

Valentines Day

Image
As I couldn't get the 22nd off work to go to the Chinese New Year celebrations in Newcastle I used the left over holidays to take off the 15th, so as I worked all day on actual Valentines day we celebrated it on the 15th. I went straight to my fiancé's house before we went out, I didn't stay over the night before as I didn't finish work until 9pm and would rather have my own space with my ankle being the way it was (its still not completely better now after two weeks). These are the presents he got me, he never takes pictures of what I get him though so I don't have one, but it included a Funko POP! of Roger Rabbit and the I love you couples activity book. My ankle was still really bad and I was struggling to walk but today was the day Clintons were releasing their Disney Tsum Tsum collection so we HAD to go into town. After picking up our two new Tsum Tsums (we got a small Mickey and a small Minnie as it was our Valentines Day after all) we

Disney's Hotel Cheyenne

Image
During our trip to Paris we stayed at Disney's Hotel Cheyenne. We've stayed at this hotel before but each time we go it seems to have slipped slightly, generally speaking it was fine, the bed was comfortable, the heater worked (a little too well, don't turn it on full!) and we had hot water, the queue for our breakfast slots were nonexistant too. This time the downside was the tv, it didn't even have the Disney channel! It aired SKY news on the Disney Channel instead, so basically we had the choice of SKY news or Timon & Pumba's safety tips to watch on tv, and with the park closing at 8pm that left little entertainment options, so we spent our nights in a very cold Disney Village. I would recommend staying here, but i'd also recommend visiting in Summer peak season when its warm and the parks are open until 11pm. I took a room tour video, you can watch that below.
