London Trip 2016 - Day Two

Image
Up early and down for breakfast just after 8am! They've rearranged the restaurant and its not as practical as it used to be, but it looks nicer. We headed out around 9:30 as the places we were going weren't due to open until 10am. Covent Garden We headed straight over to Covent Garden, stopping in the Moomin Shop and Disney Store pretty much as soon as we arrived. I got a nice little Moomin bauble for our Christmas tree! (Are you seeing a pattern here?!) Then we wandered into the market for a while, where I noticed these Pokémon GO Tshirts. I was going to pick up a Valor shirt or two, but I figured my fiancé and I probably wouldn't wear them. We then walked over to CyberCandy but it was closed for refurbishment! So we headed over to Hardy's, I love looking around in here. I picked up a Dr Pepper Cherry and then we wandered around China Town for a while before getting lunch and heading over to Camden. Camden First off, as soon as w

London Trip 2016 - Day One

Image
Travel We were up at 4:30am to get sorted before our 6:45am train from Sunderland to London. We'd booked to travel first class this time round, we boarded, sat in our assigned seats, and our tickets were checked and all fine - only after posting a photograph to Instagram questioning why first class on the Grand Central trains didn't have a plug socket, I was tweeted by Grand Central and informed I was in the wrong coach! As they'd had to switch trains this morning and F was now first class rather than E! It was obviously very.. nice.. of the ticket inspectors and other crew members to inform their customers of the change.. oh wait, they didn't! By this point we had little over an hour left of our 4 hour journey so we stayed where we were rather than drag our luggage through and disrupt other passengers. Leicester Square After dropping off our luggage we headed over to Leicester Square for some lunch and our first trips to M&Ms World and the Nickelodeo

Baking Day - Despicable Me Cupcakes

Image
It's been a while since i've baked anything cute, and since my fiancé surprised me with a load of cake mixes a while ago, I thought i'd best get baking before they all go out of date! This time I chose the Despicable Me Minion Cupcakes. The mix makes 6 cupcakes and retails for around £1.99. All you need to add is water, and 1 egg so this is an ideal, quick, cute cupcake mix for a family fun, rainy day activity. The instructions are quick and easy to follow. 1. Add the mix, 1 egg and 4 table spoons of water into a bowl. 2. Mix for 1min. 3. Pour into cases. 4. Bake at 190ºC for 15-20min 5. Add 3 teaspoons of water & the icing powder into a bowl and mix. 6. Decorate! A quick and easy cupcake mix for when you just want a treat, and fast! The only problem I had with this mix is that the yellow icing dyed our bowl yellow, so don't use a nice new bowl for the icing! Follow this blog on BlogLovin' Like u

Chanrio Maker

Image
A few weeks ago my fiancé and I discovered Chanrio Maker , its basically a website where you can go and make yourself into a Sanrio Character, it's linked in with Sanrio Puroland in Japan where they sometimes have events where your character can be involved in parades and other attractions. There wasn't a big range of clothing to choose from, but obviously, it was mostly Japanese themed so a Kimono or Yukata didn't really fit our style, so I just chose something cute for us. Me ^ My fiancé ^ I took our avatars and edited them onto one of our photos that I took in Tokyo last year. My avatar is smaller because i'm tiny. Have you made yourself a Chanrio yet? Berlin & Rome

Image
As you may have noticed from other posts i've published in the year and 8 months i've ran this blog, I love holidays, travelling, adventure and seeing new places. So, of course, after a year of only four holidays - with only one new destination, next year has had a couple of new additions! Now, on top of returning to Disneyland Paris in August for their 25th anniversary celebrations, and returning to Walt Disney World in September for an early anniversary trip, we'll also be visiting Berlin in March and Rome in June! My fiancé has been to Berlin a couple of times, he used to be in a band called Loudmouth and they'd regularly tour Europe - Germany in particular, but he never really got to explore the city, so we've added that into our 2017 plans as he's wanted to go back there for a while - he's also the one that wanted to go to Prague this year for the same reason! Neither of us have ever been to Rome though, so we're looking forward to

Japan Plan Update

Image
Yen We've exchanged picked up our spending money, but we still need to pick up a bit more - I need another 36,900¥ to finish off one of our hotel payments and to buy my Multi-Day Passport Special ticket when we check into Disney's Ambassador Hotel. I've ordered the last of the Yen, but I still need to pick it up and pay for it. Just waiting on the email saying its arrived and waiting for me! Euros I held back a few Euros for our connections, because that five hour connection at Charles De Gaulle is going to be a pain, just like last year! But, nothing a bag of Lays and a packet of Haribo Orangina sweets can't fix. Plan Our timetable plan hasn't really changed for a while, I think we're keeping our options open and our plans loose except for a few things that we've booked specific dates for (Disneyland/DisneySea) as our plans went completely out the window from the day we arrived last year due to a flight delay, so trying to squeeze everyth

South Lakes Safari Zoo

Image
On Monday my fiancé and I took, yet another, trip to South Lakes Safari Zoo in barrow-in-Furness. It makes for a pretty long day, we took a coach from Durham City Coaches, taking us just over four hours to get there with a quick 15min stop at Scotch Corner where I managed to grab some fries from Burger King because I was starving by then! We had around 4 and a half hours in the zoo, so we didn't bother upgrading to feeding wristbands, and there was a lot of stuff we missed as we wanted to see the Tiger and Snow Leopard feedings, and being short, I needed to get there early so I could see! I spent around 20min with the lemurs again, I think ring-tailed lemurs are one of my favourite animals of all time. There was even a few babies running around and snuggling up together too. At one point, a ruffed lemur crawled into my fiancé's shadow and settled down for a nap, we felt so bad moving on! I do have a video to edit up from our trip, but I haven't had a

Hot Topic Wishlist

Image
Another wishlist post! I'm writing a few of these at the moment, I think it has something to do with being on a spending ban with London coming up next week, Tokyo a couple of weeks after that, Berlin in March, Rome in June, Disneyland Paris in August and Walt Disney World in September, I really need to cut back on my spending elsewhere. Pikachu Tshirt Although I still have a couple of Pokémon tshirts from when I was a kid, and they do still fit, they're just not as comfy as they could be, thats why this cute Pikachu has made it into my newest Hot Topic Wishlist. Its simple, cute and the design isn't too over baring or too small. Gir on a Pig Patch I've loved Invader Zim for quite a few years! Although the tshirt styles Hot Topic usually release don't really suit me and they don't have any pyajamas available I did manage to find this cute Gir on a Piggy patch which would look great on the new backpack I got for my birthday. I Got A Graphic Tablet

Image
About a month ago I finally bought a new graphic tablet - the fourth one i've bought in my life, although, two of them weren't actually for me. I just bought a cheap one because I honestly don't know how much i'll use it - I used it a few times in the first couple of weeks but i've barely touched it since to be honest! I only bought it because i'd been doing a couple of sketches and doodles in my spare times in the evenings recently, like the Naruto one below. I just wanted to share my random drawings and doodles with you here, then, when I continue to use the graphic tablet i'll basically be documenting my progress from the mess i've created so far, and, hopefully, the decent pieces of work i'll be creating in the future! Other than a couple of mock up ideas for Animez, i've only really drawn one thing - me as a Pokémon trainer! I couldn't download Pokémon Go, so I had to get into the PKMN World somehow! I've not been bac

Suicide Squad Review

Image
On Tuesday my fiancé and I went to see Suicide Squad, here is his review! Suicide Squad So, this was a movie that I saw which was... Ok. I think what's happened is that when a movie gets hyped to high heaven and back, everybody's expectations are high so when the movie comes out and it's ok, everybody says it sucks to hell and back so by the time I see it, my expectations for it are in the gutter so I actually enjoy it a little. So what we have is a premise of a superhero movie where all the bad guys are good guys but they're not bad guys, they're just misunderstood, shunned, trying to reform or mentally ill. So what we have is a "big bad" in the Enchantress breaking free of her metaphorical chains and creating a super-weapon which she plans on using to destroy humanity. Our unlikely heroes are given explosive implants in their necks which will kill them if they don't conform, so they conform. All the way around this we h

PhotoBlog

I recently started posting again on my photography blog ! Please check it out, theres a range of food, still life, studio, travel, disney, landscape and everything else being posted there, usually on a Wednesday and a Sunday. I don't have time to maintain it at two posts a week all of the time, but with my upcoming trip to Tokyo there will be plenty of photographs over there because I won't be able to share them all on here or Instagram! The photography blog only gets my DSLR photos, and this blog & my instagram generally only get iPhone photos. Let me know what you think! Follow this blog on BlogLovin' Like us on Facebook

London!

Image
A couple of weeks ago I booked a trip to London for the end of this month but never got around to announcing it! I can't wait to go, its been over a year since I last visited, and I have to admit I am really looking forward to the breakfast at the hotel! Doesn't matter if I have a really bad experience at the Royal National Hotel because i'll always return for their sausage sandwiches! I'm not in charge of this trip so I can't really do much planning, but i'm keeping my fingers crossed for a trip to London Zoo! and I know we'll end up in M&Ms World at least three times! I can't wait to see the new Nickelodeon Store either as that wasn't open during my last visit, and of course a 'cheeky' little visit to Cyber Candy will be on the cards along with holiday clothes shopping at Vans. My fiancé and I were also looking at visiting London in November for Hyper Japan Christmas Market but with recently booking two more holiday
