Empire Cinemas - MiniCon Sunderland

Image
On Saturday my friend's and I visited the Empire Cinemas free MiniCon event in Sunderland. Here is a quick little look through what they had on offer. We spend a good hour or two looking around the stalls and chatting to Wing at Animez before heading out into the city where we found Zoffilini's, a new little ice cream place/coffee shop/hang out space near by. All in all it was a good day!

Movie Review: Deadpool 2

Image
Deadpool 2 [some spoilers] Ryan Reynolds returns as Wade “Deadpool” Wilson, in the gore-filled sequel to Deadpool. A recurring theme in this movie is that Deadpool just wants to die as he has nothing left to live for. Everybody he loves is dead. And he ends up forming a “gender-neutral” team called “X-Force” to save a kid with anger issues and a mutation that enables him to create fire. Cable has travelled back in time to kill the kid because the kid killed his wife and child. Deadpool wants to try to prevent the kid from turning on to that path. Cable and Deadpool’s stories are pretty similar except Deadpool doesn’t have a child… The after-credits scene is a lot of fun, revisiting a few Deadpool “mistakes” and also a couple of Ryan Reynolds’ too. Of course, the “Merc with a Mouth” is full of pop-culture references, meta-references and fourth-wall destruction, along with a pretty hilarious scene which came about when Deadpool gets torn in half. Guns, violence, sword

Holiday Savings Tips - Part 1

Image
As its spring and everyone is already looking forward to their upcoming summer holidays I thought now would be a great time to share some of my saving tips with you all. The newest addition to my online savings cash back sites is  Boom25 , now don't get me wrong, I still use TopCashback for most of my online purchases, but  Boom25  is ideal for purchases which offer a low cashback rate e.g JustEat. On JustEat orders for 3 adults I was making around 18p on Topcashback but through Boom25 you get a minimum of 50p back with a chance of winning your entire spend back. The way it works is every 25th order wins their full spend back (sometimes this doesn't include delivery or taxes) or on some special offers they'll set it so every 7th order for example will win their cash back. Boom25 works the same as any other cash back website, you log in, select the website you want to order from and press "Go Now". It will take you to the webs

April Home Update

Image
Earlier in the month we ripped out some old fitted wardrobes, which at this point were basically doorless shelving units and moved stuff into the office and loft. We gave the garden it's first cut of the season - and it already needs another one! We moved the office furniture into the back of the dining room so we had more storage room in the office to clear out the bedroom and back room ready for them to be plastered. April 29th We emptied and dismantled two fitted wardrobes and cleared most of the backroom into the office ready for the electrician and plasterers coming. April 30th Our electrician came and installed our two bedside USB sockets. He wired in our random socket that was just on the wall and not connected to anything. He changed our bedroom light fittings - turns out the light that's been above me wasn't wired in properly and could have set on fire and killed me this whole time! He also replaced/rewired some sockets in the backroom -
