Barcelona - Day 5 - The Return Home
We got up around 7:30am, we'd packed the cases the night before so we were around 90% ready to leave as soon as we woke up.
My fiancé got ready and went for breakfast, I stayed in bed before having a packet of crisps and a couple of bread rolls he snuck out of the breakfast room for me - I don't see the point in getting ready to go downstairs and eat a little bit of bread, just wish i'd thought ahead and not paid for it if I wasn't going to use it!
Because the lights in the room don't work without the door keycard being in the electricity slot, I stayed in bed and watched a bit of the news while I was waiting for my fiancé to get back.
After breakfast I got ready and packed the last few toiletries and things that needed to go away, once my GHDs were cool we were all packed and ready to go!
Our shuttle arrived on time at 9:30am and it went well at first as the next pick up were on time and waiting too, although sadly they were the last pick up who were! We spent a lot of time waiting at a few of the hotel pick up points, but made it to the airport before our check in was open. Terminal 2E is atrocious, so if you're ever travelling through here bring something to eat as all that was there was a duty free, a coffee shop and a Relay.
Our flight got delayed by around 40min, and once we finally landed in Newcastle we were told we couldn't disembark until the passengers on another flight had all moved which took around 15min or so.
Once off the plane our luggage came out late, and on the wrong conveyor, I'd already found one of our cases before they finally put an announcement out for the rest of our flight who were still waiting at the other conveyor belt.
Road works took forever to get through, and I made it home around 2 hours later than i'd planned to.
I just want one holiday this year where my flights aren't delayed!
