Barcelona - Day 2 - Barcelona Zoo, Parc Ciutadella, Shopping

After an early night and a good sleep we headed out after breakfast - pretty late - at 9:30am to get to the Zoo for it opening at 10am.

Its a nice zoo, great for a day visit, we didn't quite spend the full day there though, we left around 3:30 but had to miss out an entire section, if we didn't have plans for later in the day we could have easily stayed until closing time. I'd recommend taking a picnic if you're not going in August as some of the food places were closed but there were still a few options but it was mostly hot dogs, fruit or ice lollies. The gift shop was a big let down, the only things with the Zoo logo on them were backpacks and one small, plain keyring which we didn't see until we were paying for our postcards.

If you take a visit, make sure not to dangle your children above the enclosures!

After visiting the zoo we headed out for a wander around Parc de la Ciutadella.

As we were about to leave we saw a few Policia officers running towards where we were and two cars came shortly after. I couldn't quite tell what was happening - but it sounded/looked like two tourists were set upon and had a wallet or something stolen. There was a local helping them until and when the Policia arrived, but we left after the cars did, the officers were still around though so i'm not entirely sure what happened.

After that we went back to the hotel to 'recharge', as if that meant rest! No, to recharge our phones! We then headed back out to do a little bit of shopping. I bought another jumper - a Vans one this time, I was already going to order it online when I got home from Barcelona anyway but this way I got to try it on. Its comfy.

Here is the video compilation from our trip to Barcelona Zoo.
