Japan - Day 7 - Harajuku!

After a slow start this morning we checked out of our hotel dot on checkout time at 11am - we didn't really plan on heading back to Tokyo that early anyway as we didn't want to be on a busy train with everything we (Ok, I) bought during our few wonderful days at Tokyo Disney Resort. There was really bad weather this morning - very rainy, and yes, we'd packed our umbrellas at the bottom of our bag last night! So we just had to walk through it to the train station, thankfully, it's not far and it meant I could have a sneaky little dive in the Disney Store at Ikspiari on the way, its probably my favourite non-park Disney Store. They had so many cute things! Especially the iPhone 6 covers with Max Goof on them, but, i'd already preordered my iPhone 7 by this point so, sadly, no cute phone cover for me.

Our train journey was pretty uneventful, and before long we were back in Ikebukuro dropping off our bags at the Sakura Hotel and heading out for lunch in Sunshine City. We then rushed to the train station and caught the train to Harajuku. We never made it here last August so we were finally crossing something new off our list!

Our first stop was the Meiji Shrine as it had originally been in our plans for last year and as the sky had cleared up a bit now we thought we'd best check that out first! I ended up waiting around, taking some photographs as my fiance rushed off to catch a Charizard on Pokemon GO.. this time, mine ran away :( we then headed through to the shrine, it was a lovely walk and i'd definitely recommend a visit here even if its the only shrine you visit! Although Senso-ji Temple is probably still my favourite.

We took the exit towards Takeshita Dori, we couldn't believe just how crowded the street was!

We dived into Daiso on our way down, because secretly, I was only really in Harajuku to go here. I desperately wanted some Deco-choco pens!

We popped into Candy A Go-Go, because you may have noticed from previous trip based posts that if there is a pick & mix shop I can't resist going in!

We then took a break at Santa Monica Crepes before heading down to Kiddyland where I got a few new pairs of super cute socks! We had planned on coming back to this area to visit the Pixar Exhibition but sadly, we never got time.

We then headed back for the metro to Ikebukuro, stopping by 7 eleven on the way to pick up some green tea kit kats for my work colleagues and then getting our first set of laundry done before my fiance picked us up a McDonalds. McDonalds in bed quickly became a prominent part of our trip this year, so much so that I still feel sick thinking about McDonalds several weeks later.
