Japan - Day 16 - Goodbye Japan

We were up really early this morning, in fact, I hardly slept, but we had to catch our Keisei Skyliner to the Airport early this morning.

So we jumped up, had a quick packet of crisps for breakfast and prayed that they'd have something good in the airport and headed next door to Nippori Station to catch our train. We had perfect seats, we were the two closest seats to the luggage racks!

We got there a few hours early, dropped off our bags, posted our pocket wifi back in the airport mail box and headed to McDonald's for some breakfast, and the airport one has suddenly stopped selling nuggets for breakfast! They had a sort of spicy chicken muffin thing though, which was fine.

We had a little look through the shops before heading through security, which didn't take anywhere near as long as last year! I was a bit worried going through, as when we arrived neither of us got our tear off slips back, but I can only guess its because we filled them out on the way there so we just needed the stamp in our passport on the way home, but who knows! no problem encountered.

We then had time to browse more shops, I do love shops, picking up a couple of new magnets before trading in our Yen for Pounds, even though I would have rather just switched them into Euros like last year, but never mind.

Our flight was pretty nice, I'd booked us a row of two seats, and although we were sat by the toilet it wasn't really a problem, there was a smell before take off, but after that the only problems were the odd flushing sound, but the toilet we were at didn't seem too popular so no queues or anything lurking around our seat! I don't like plane food and tend to pack my own snacks but my fiance always asks for bread rolls for me (i'm usually sleeping) and they really supplied me with them this time! I usually get one but at one point I had three!

We then had a... lovely.. five our connection in Paris. And, probably due to security reasons, they've changed the way you connect flights so we ended up having to leave and then reenter the airport so we went through Passport control twice! We also got sent to the Non-EU queue (they sent EVERYONE there) and then there were a couple of frantic staff at the end of the queue trying to find EU passport holders and pull us into the other queue, it was pretty crazy. Not looking forward to 'Brexit means Brexit' at all.

Once through security I did exactly what I had planned to do in the airport the entire time - stock up on Orangina Haribo! They are the absolute best sweets in the world, i'm not even kidding. I also found these cute mini Nutella jars but I couldn't convince my fiancé that I absolutely needed them as an anniversary gift.

Our second flight was slightly delayed but not by long, but I was so glad to get home and sleep! In fact, we both slept the entire flight on the way home.
