Japan - Day 13 - Tokyo Skytree & Akihabara

This is probably going to be a pretty short post for today because we didn't really do a lot!

We started the day quite late and slow as we were pretty tired from our day in Disney yesterday! We headed out for lunch around 11 so it was a lot busier than usual!

Once we were fed we headed over to catch the train to the Tokyo Skytree, and heres a tip for you if you plan on visiting! Take your passport! There is a special, really really short queue for non-Japanese guests that gets you priority entry into the first lift and gets you your tickets a lot quicker (you can't buy these in advance unless you have a Japanese bank card). And i'm not joking here, the standard queue was worse than at the Empire State Building.

We got tickets for the top floor so we spent a couple of hours here I think, wandering both floors, having a look through the glass floor, and we even had a lovely little icecream while we were there! Personally, I didn't think much of the icecream, but those cornflakes were delicious!

We left through every gift shop we saw and then headed to catch the train to Akihabara, stopping by a couple of shops in the area first.

We didn't really do any shopping in Akihabara this time round, I think we only went in one shop, I can't remember what it was called but we picked up an Olympic keyring, Tsum Tsum money box and a couple of other random things.

We then wandered the arcades for a while, which were full of what looked like an American school/college trip and wow were those people rude. We didn't stick around too long if i'm honest.

We got the train back to Ikebukuro, stopping by the Taito Arcade again and we basically cleared out the Neko Atsume prizes before heading out for dinner and getting a start on our packing.

I managed to pack one of our cases, the biggest one, entirely with things we'd bought and we still had a lot left to go in the cases!
