New York - Day 5 - Joe Strummer Mural & Empire State Building


We had an early start to our final full day in New York and headed out to find the Joe Strummer mural over on Avenue A.




I took a few photographs and as I was checking them two other sets of people came to have their photographs taken by it. I didn't think it was going to be a 'tourist spot' so to speak, but i'm glad we weren't the only tourists around as there were a lot of 'dodgy' looking people around, mostly homeless to be fair, and in that sort of situation I just don't like standing out from the crowd.


We headed back to the hotel to pick up our coats before heading over to the Empire State Building to use our prebooked tickets, I am so glad we booked the queue jumping tickets because the queue to get in with regular tickets was over an hour and a half long!

After our trip to the Empire State Building we grabbed some lunch before heading back to the hotel to start packing our cases.


This is everything I bought except two bags of Christmas decorations and my Disney Traditions Statue of Liberty as they were all bubble wrapped up and packed safely so they would survive the two planes home.


After we got through most of the packing we headed out to Times Square, I had a quick last check in the Disney Store for Vinylmations, but they still didn't have any, still no mini Duffy Tsum Tsum either. We bought a few more bits (mostly sweets I think!) before heading for food before getting an early night ready to finish packing in the morning.
