Spending Ban Part Two

The spending ban at the beginning of the year went down hill.

After feeling disgusted at my bank balance every time I use an ATM, i've decided I really need to bring back this spending ban now i'm back from my holiday.

The only problem is i've got Barcelona, New York, our 10th anniversary, my Mam's birthday and Christmas to contend with over the next few months.

I'm going to cut what I spend elsewhere and see if I can get my bank balance looking happy again!

Next year's holiday is going to be pretty heavy, especially since we'll need to pay for flights and hotel in full when we book them as we're not going through a travel agent - I honestly wouldn't waste my money booking with an agent for Europe.

Obviously i'll still buy myself a few things, and i'll maybe pick up a little extra overtime once winter kicks in (well, its not like we're going to be going to the beach or having BBQs then is it?).

I've already started compiling a anniversary, birthday, Christmas basket on Amazon which has so far hit over £200, but at least I know what I need to keep aside so I can plan my money a bit better.

I still have money in my 'Disney Savings Tin' which is just for any holiday in general now so thats a start, and we've got a separate New York tin so we're getting somewhere with that.

The main thing that helps us with saving is selling junk on eBay!

If you've never sold on eBay I really recommend you give it a go, its easy and it helps tidy your house out as well as giving you a little spending money.

I'm going to be keeping an eye on the flights from now on to see when our flights from next year become available then I can snatch them up while they're cheaper, and i've got my money set aside for my iPhone 7 unless I decide to get it on contract this time since O2 haven't really messed me around in the last three years, although i'm still being harassed with PPI etc calls for the bill payer (thats how I know it was O2 who sold on my details, the bill payer has never used this number).

Once it gets colder again we can have cosy indoor dates, making cakes and watching DVDs. They're cheaper but just as good, just not when its summer!

Do you have any tips for saving money?
