MyStays Maihama Review

We originally were planning on just travelling from our hotel in Ikebukuro to Disney every morning but after realising it would mean getting around four ours sleep a night for three nights it just didn't seem practical so we set out about looking for a hotel closer to Disney. We originally tried the official Disney Hotels but all they had left were suites, then we tried the partners but they were expensive for what they were with such little benefits of staying there, then we found the MyStays Maihama.

The hotel was well reviewed on TripAdvisor and only a 10minute walk away from DisneySea at a decent price it was an obvious no brainer, we booked up this hotel straight away!

We had to get separate beds (you'll see more of this the more we change hotel, it seems pretty standard in a Japanese hotel room to only do twin rooms rather than doubles, but in some cases, these were just the only rooms they had left).

The hotel was pretty great, clean room, comfy beds and pillows, fridge in the room (necessary in Japan in August!) they even had a dehumidifier and a foot massager in the room. My fiancé loved the foot massager, he said it really helped his aching feet.

The room had a good view too, I mean not the best view as we couldn't see the fireworks from our room (some rooms get a firework view) but better than looking out the window and seeing a wall which we had in a hotel later in our stay.

The hotel was ¥77,400 for the three nights, which works out as roughly £398, which is a really good price for the area its in as its so close to the Disney parks.

These are the amenities of the MyStays Maihama, taken directly from their website:

[ Guest Room Facilities ]
High speed internet (Wi-Fi/wired) / Memory foam pillow / Small feather Pillow / Frat screen television / VOD (Video on demand service) / AC with individual room temperature control / Humidifier & air purifier / In room desk / Alarm clock / Telephone / Safety Box / Hair dryer / *Deodorizing mist / In room refrigerator / Electric kettle / Modular bathroom / Toilet with washlet feature

The room was a bit smaller than our room at the Sakura Hotel Ikebukuro, but we'd booked a superior room there so that is to be expected and as we only had two backpacks and a camera bag with us during our stay here the space was adequate, although after all the shopping we (I) did during our Disney trip we were starting to run out of space by the time we packed our bags on our final night.
