My 24th Birthday - Part One

Today is my 24th birthday, but my fiancé gave me my birthday presents last night because we won't have a lot of time together today because I have plans with my family in the evening.

I've had a lovely three days off, we've been to the cinema and we've been shopping in Newcastle twice - one of those days we were supposed to go to Tynemouth and on the other we were supposed to have a BBQ but the weather just hasn't been the same as was forecast.

Yesterday we also ordered £2000 worth of yen using the Money Saving Expert offer through Debenhams, which at the moment will give you a £5 voucher AND the same exchange rate as the Debenhams card holders get (which is the best rate for someone in the North East, if you can't get to a Debenhams then Marks & Spencers should be your next choice). Our Yen won't be here until Tuesday, but they have an option of paying in full, or just a 10% deposit when you order it, so if you don't quite have the amount you need just yet, you can order extra and pay the rest off when you pick up your currency.

Anyway, here are the presents my fiancé got me for my birthday.

The first early birthday present he gave me was this pair of Disney x Vans Donald Duck shoes, I originally wanted the Mickey Mouse ones as I wanted them to match the bag, but slip on shoes really aren't my thing, I like to overly tighten my laces if i'm honest.

This was the pile I was greeted with, my fiancé doesn't really believe in wrapping presents, and he didn't have time to get a gift bag as everything arrived so close to my birthday. Theres something that still hasn't even arrived!

The cat plushie - Nemuneko - is from Animez, its super cute, warm and cuddly!

The first early present I 'got' really was the expensive, sought after, unmasked Iron Man - Tony Stark San Diego Comic Con Exclusive Funko POP! figure. He let me see it early because I'd had such a bad week last month (I think it was probably at the end/in the middle of my 9 day week at work). I think the neighbours thought i'd died or something from all my squees of excitement. I also knew he'd bought the Big Hero 6 DVD and the Mametchi plushie as I was there when he got them - although he said the Mametchi was for him, which left me rather grumpy since i've been after it for about two years!

The DVD player in the top photo is a multi-regional DVD player, i've been after one for years so I could get a specific DVD, and now I finally have one, I have no idea what DVD I was after. He got me the four seasons of Bob's Burgers, but the fourth one hasn't arrived yet, Good Burger (home of the Good Burger), and the Invader Zim box set (see photos below). Oh! And we also have Disney's The Weekenders on there way too, I really can't wait for those to get here.

This is what is in the Invader Zim box in the top picture, its a DVD box set designed to look like Zim's house, the roof opens, housing this little Gir toy, and the door opens to allow access to the DVDs.

These were probably the most unexpected surprise he got me, all I have to do is LOOK at a cup in a shop and i'll get "NO MORE CUPS - we have too many cups!", so being given three new cups was a huge surprise! Although really, he'll be using Wall·E and i'll be using Eve.

By the time this post goes live, i'll be 24 and it's somewhat frightening, this is the last blog post i'll be writing aged 23. I'm going to make the 24th year of my life incredible. Its time to step up my adult game and get more serious. I need to knuckle down a bit more with my photography, and we need to get our house fixed up, and then theres planning our Wedding and our general travels on top of all of that!

23 has been a good year though. Florida, London twice, Paris, cutting down trees, Apple Watch, Disney shoes, booking and planning Japan, this new blog, making my first sales on Red Bubble, Edinburgh Zoo, South Lakes Safari Zoo, redecorating, Lion King, Wicked, Foo Fighters, and starting a POP! collection alongside the lovable Japanese Tsum Tsum.

Lets make age 24 even bigger and better!
