Travel Planning - New Purchases

When I was looking around online before my trip to Florida last year I came across the Cocoon Grid-it but decided not to get one. I recently saw that they are on the online Apple Store so ventured to my local store hoping they would have some in stock and I could see one in person before I bought one, they didn't have one so I took the plunge anyway bought one from Amazon as it was a bit cheaper and I wasn't entirely sure if this was right for us.

This is the medium grid-it, its quite small, but very heavy for what it is, so if you buy one, bare that in mind if you're travelling because of your weight allowance limits.

I bought a two pack of 32GB U3 SDHC cards in the same order, meaning my cards (excluding compact camera) totals 250GB of storage, although i'm not entirely sure why I still have two 1GB cards in my Lowepro holder!

I also have a couple of batteries for my Panasonic HX-DC2 arriving somewhere between today and the 29th of June, I hope they come before the 29th so I can test them at Sunnycon over the 27th and 28th. With the two new batteries i'll have a total of seven batteries, but they only last around 30 minutes each on a full charge, so approx. 3 hours and 30 mins worth of recording time (32GB SD can record for just under four and a half hours) but it means that, like in the past, I might end up missing 30 seconds or so of a long video when I have to swap batteries!.

The next thing on my list that I really want before we go away - in all honesty, I want it before my birthday on Friday but thats not going to happen - is the new Vans x Disney Mickey Mouse backpack which doesn't seem to be available in the UK (yet?)! Although i've found one online for £40 including post from America, but if I end up being hit with customs charges then it'd work out a fair bit more than that - Vans have the Minnie Mouse backpack on the website for £35, so really, paying £40 isn't a big deal.

I already have a smallish hand luggage folder where I can keep things like park/attraction tickets, boarding passes, pens and so on, I bought it for when we went to California in 2013 as I wanted to stay organised and have everything ready to show at the airport if required. On this trip i'll be keeping my JRPass stuff in there and probably other small bits of paperwork. With main pieces (like hotel reservations and insurance information) being kept in another file or plastic wallet.

How do you organise your hand luggage?
