Japan Trip Planning Update!

Hello!

I've been really busy planning our Japan trip when i've not been at work recently so sorry for the lack of posts here, but heres a quick update on what we have planned for Japan now, the previous update can be found here.

We bought our Green car Japan Rail Pass on Sunday and it arrived on Tuesday. We bought them from JTB and they sent them out first class post. I didn't think we'd get them so soon as the website asked what the latest date you could accept them and we put something like July 31st.

We can't make our train reservations until we get there but we'll be having three very busy and tiring days as long as we can get onto the trains we want, heres the current train schedule plan that I found through HyperDia.

Tokyo – Kyoto 7am [arrives 10:11am]
Kyoto – Hiroshima 19:49pm [arrives 10:33pm]
Hiroshima – Osaka 8:06 train [arrive 10am]
Osaka – Tokyo – 7:27pm [arrives 11:12pm] / 7:02pm[arrives 10:45pm]

I just need to find out wether our hotel in Hiroshima are ok with us checking in that late, i've asked them via their website, Facebook and Twitter but not heard anything back yet.

The hotel we've chosen in Hiroshima is the Hotel Granvia Hiroshima, its part of JR Hotel Group as far as I can see, and the hotel is directly connected to the JR Hiroshima Station, which is ideal for when we arrive that late, and as our train to Osaka is quite early in the morning.

We originally were going to stay in the Westin Osaka, but we needed a full day in Hiroshima and we couldn't get there early enough by train from Osaka.

We're booking a Superior Double room at the Granvia, its on the 19th floor with a stunning view of the city. The only downside to this hotel is that breakfast its around £18.50 per person per morning!

This is the current plan for those three days, but there will be adjustments and some things might need to be skipped out, possibly the Kinkaku-ji Temple as it seems quite difficult to get to, with most websites recommending you book a taxi.

I think my favourite day is going to be in Hiroshima. I'm really looking forward to the Naruto Exhibition too - as long as we can get tickets - but i've seen you're not allowed to take any photographs or video inside the exhibition (quite standard for a gallery really) but its a bit upsetting that I won't have any photographs to remember it by.

We can book our Tokyo Disney Resort tickets on Friday but we're not sure how to get them yet - should we just print etickets? or pay an extra £9 or so to get the actual tickets delivered to us via Tenso? I really would prefer actual tickets! The current plan is 5th August - Disneyland, 6th August - DisneySea, 7th August - Hopper Day but we might pick up a Starlight passport and go back one evening, or maybe get a ticket for our last full day if there are any left when we're there as we don't have a definite plan for our last day yet, although Comiket is on then so we might go there.

We might be cutting out the Ghibli Museum in favour of a day in Kamakura or a visit to Sanrio Puroland as neither of us have really watched the Ghibli movies. I just wish we'd visited Japan when Hello Kitty was my favourite thing ever (after Disney anyway).

I started my holiday packing list shopping on Wednesday, and so far i've got

- Nivea lip balm
- Moisturiser
- Showergel
- Conditioner
- Tissues
- Facewipes
- Deodorant
- Plasters
- Travel toothbrushes
- Toothpaste

I'll be picking up a few more things on Friday because they're a lot cheaper where I work compared to Boots/Wilkinsons etc. And i'll pick up sun cream closer to the time.
