Japan Trip Planning Update

Its time for another Japan trip planning update!

Timetable update

Here is our updated timetable, its still pretty rough, with notes everywhere. Basically, the changes were the Ghibli Museum being removed, Kamakura being added, some rail planning, the Tokyo Bay Fireworks as the date has finally been announced, and a lot of things have changed day after I realised just how far apart things are! So I checked via HyperDia how long it would take to get from A to B and reworked the timetable, as 40min between sights when it could be 13min is crazy!

Transport to the airport / hotel 4

As our original flight home has been cancelled, the first Narita Express from Ikebukuro won't get us to the airport in time and there is no way we can get on the Yamanote Line with three suitcases! so we've decided to move hotel, yet again, so we'll be picking a fourth hotel out, probably near Nippori for our last night, we were going to move over to the airport hotel but it meant we'd have to leave Tokyo at around 6pm, meaning we'd have to spend the afternoon packing and basically lose our last day. We're also not taking the Narita Express to the airport now, we'll be taking the Keisei Skyliner instead.

Yen

We visited Debenhams in Newcastle last week and I ordered all of my Yen, we picked it up on Tuesday, i'm not going to take another photo so here is the one of the Yen I got for my birthday.

The trip is starting to come together now, I have most of my toiletries bought waiting to be packed, I now have my Yen, we have our Japan Rail Pass exchange orders and now our IC cards (see below). I also have our Euros for our connections at Amsterdam and Paris, but i'll need to get more Euros for our trip to Barcelona the month after!

PASMO

On Saturday our PASMO cards arrived, we ordered them in advance from Japan Experience as we're going to be short on time on our arrival to Narita and we needed the PASMO over the Suica as you can use it in Kyoto, Osaka and Hiroshima. They are preloaded with ¥1500.

Tenso / Disney tickets

I ordered our Disney tickets through the official website on the 5th and had them sent to my fiancé's Tenso address, it took him a few days to set it up - he's really not quick with anything that needs urgent attention - and they were posted out on Sunday. Finally.
