Rome - Day Two - Colosseum & Trevi Fountain

We got up pretty early - well, around 7am, my fiancé headed down to breakfast while I snoozed a little and then had the breakfast i'd picked up the night before (I have to take my medication with foods that are high in fat and protein and the cereal and hot dogs they served at breakfast just wouldn't cut it!).

After breakfast we quickly got ready and then headed over to the Colosseum - we'd prebought our tickets before our holiday. It's ideal to do this with the Colosseum because you don't have to specify a day or time for your visit.

We spent a couple of hours looking around and taking a ton of photos and videos before heading for lunch - we were going to visit the Roman Forum but by the time we'd gone off to find food we were at least a 30min walk away from the area and decided not to go back. I think it had a lot to do with the heat, I don't think i'm managing it as well as I used to now that I have MS. Oh well.

We decided to have a quick rush back to the hotel since we weren't too far away, stopping by a little super market, we found this! Blue Fanta, it was lemon and elderberry, pretty sour but pretty nice too. It cost €1.50 like the rest of the drinks in the shop. We didn't get it again throughout the trip though as we were visiting Pam Local to stock up on drinks - they €1 there, thats around 88p! But they didn't stock blue Fanta.

After a little break and phone charge we headed out to the Trevi Fountain.

I've never seen a place so crowded!

After throwing in our coins we headed out shopping, I saw a cute little magnet, it was a jar of pasta, I just had to have it! But we ended up picking it up a couple of days later from a different shop.


We ended up stopping by a couple of street artists and watching them for a while, picking up a piece from each of them. Although sadly I ended up ruining one when the wind blew the bag into the corner of the wall and my leg went straight into it! >.<
It's not too bad though, still looks ok, just a little ceased on two of the edges.

Next stop - Disney Store!

I picked up quite a few exclusive bits and then we headed over to Vans.

All I got from Vans was the exclusive Rome tshirt, I wish i'd bought more of them, but heh, thats just an excuse to go back to Rome, am I right?


We decided to head back, stopping by the Calippo place for a slush.
I got lemon & what I think was called blue fantasy.

We walked back to the hotel as the sun was setting and stopped by McDonald's, we tried to get the Sweety Con Nutella but they told us they don't sell it anymore!

They did sell these beauties though!

Once we got back to the room I noticed a small insect on the wall.
Got rid of it, but this was only the start - come back for day three to find out just how bad our room was!
