Rome - Day Three - Bioparco Di Roma & Hotel Problems!
We were up around 7am again today, a little bit of a lazy morning, I don't think we left the hotel until after 9.
We set off on the 30 minute walk to the zoo, I thought i'd finally get a tan during this walk!
But after 10min or so I was diving into the shade.
The walk was beautiful and the park next to the zoo was amazing.
We spent a few hours here, we would have spent longer but we hadn't taken any food with us as we expected the restaurants to be open - they weren't.
We found a snack place that sold hot dogs and crisps and that had to do.
Pretty let down to be honest.
I've been to zoos in other countries in MARCH and their food places were open!
After the zoo we headed back to the hotel, we were planning on quickly getting changed and charging up our phones before heading out to do more shopping and get some Nutella Gelato but our plans were due to be ruined..
Back at the hotel, you may remember from Day Two that I mentioned an insect on the wall, well, today there was an ant on the floor by my suitcase.
Slightly annoyed by two insects in two days, I went back to what ever I was doing, had a shower, put on the news, my fiancé had gone out to pick us up some food, I had McDonalds and he had pizza.
We only had one bin in the room - the bathroom bin, so he put his pizza box in there, after about 20min or so I decide that I didn't want to smell pizza right around the hotel room so he went to take the box to the bin by the lift - only when he picked the box up he found that it was full of ANTS!
And not just that, but the walls, floor and sink were also covered in ants!
He told me to pack up our stuff and then headed down to reception - they changed our room from 606 to 609. They sound close to each other but they're really not.
We did have a few problems with our new room - our new one needed to be opened with the smart card - which meant we wouldn't be able to leave the fridge on for my medication while we were out. So back downstairs we go, they gave us another card though thankfully.
We grumpily unpacked again and went to bed, with our plans for an early night ready for our early start tomorrow ruined.
