South Lakes Safari Zoo

On Monday my fiancé and I took, yet another, trip to South Lakes Safari Zoo in barrow-in-Furness.

It makes for a pretty long day, we took a coach from Durham City Coaches, taking us just over four hours to get there with a quick 15min stop at Scotch Corner where I managed to grab some fries from Burger King because I was starving by then!

We had around 4 and a half hours in the zoo, so we didn't bother upgrading to feeding wristbands, and there was a lot of stuff we missed as we wanted to see the Tiger and Snow Leopard feedings, and being short, I needed to get there early so I could see!

I spent around 20min with the lemurs again, I think ring-tailed lemurs are one of my favourite animals of all time. There was even a few babies running around and snuggling up together too.

At one point, a ruffed lemur crawled into my fiancé's shadow and settled down for a nap, we felt so bad moving on!

I do have a video to edit up from our trip, but I haven't had a chance to yet as I was at work yesterday, so here is a video of the Jaguar feeding from 2014!

Our coach journey on the way there went pretty smoothly, there was a toddler who wouldn't stop screaming and shouting "mine" before throwing things for about an hour, but that was the worst of it on the way there.
But on the way back, when everyone is exhausted, that same kid had a soiled nappy on for the majority of the trip, including a poo-stained babygrow. They didn't change her until we'd been on the bus for over two hours. I think we got the worst of it as we were sitting to the side of them, and I always find it pretty disgusting when people change their baby on bus seats (please take a mat or something with you!).
