Travel Planning - Japan

When we booked this trip we were just planning on staying in Tokyo - we've booked the same hotel we stayed in last year, and I'd be really happy if we got exactly the same room! But since booking we've been thinking about visiting places outside of Tokyo again, i'd love to revisit Okunoshima and Miyajima, and we never managed to fit in a visit to Kinkaku-ji and Ginkaku-ji when we were in Kyoto, and we didn't really see a lot of Osaka or Hiroshima either. We'll not be going back to climb Mt Fuji this year though so that will save us two/two and a half days as that took a lot of travel time! If we do decide we're definitely going to see more of Japan again we'll be booking our JR Rail Pass again and if we're visiting the same areas again we'll probably be staying at the Hiroshima Granvia Hotel again, although we might change this if there is a better hotel in another Station - last year we stayed there as it made it easier to get to Okunoshima.

We've booked another hotel for our final night so we can be near the Skyliner but we couldn't book the hotel we stayed in last year, if it becomes available we'll be cancelling our current booking and staying at the Hotel Sunny though - the rooms were lovely and its right next door to the station, the hotel we have booked right now is a 5-10min walk away.

We'll be booking a pocket wifi system to take with us again as having internet on the go in Japan makes life a lot easier as you can access maps and Tokyo Metro route planners and maps to get you where you need to be. It makes it a lot harder to get lost! We'll probably be booking it through Global Advanced Comm again.

Disneyland!

We'll probably be visiting Disney on our first few days again like we did last year, and will be ordering our tickets from the Tokyo Disney Resort website and having them sent to us via TENSO.

We'll be booking a hotel near Disney again and up til now we're hoping to get a room at either the new Disney Celebration Hotel or the Donald Room at the Ambassador, although we'd settle for a standard room if we can get one - the rooms there sell out so quickly! If we can't get onsite again we'll probably go back to the MyStays Maihama. It's a bit of a walk away from the parks but the rooms are good and its in a pretty quiet area.

We're looking at finally making a trip down to Kamakura this time as we ran out of time last year too.

I want to spend half a day at Sanrio Puroland and we might take a visit over to the Ghibli museum but we're not completely sure on that one. We want to go back to J-World Tokyo too as we didn't really see a lot of it as we went late on an evening so didn't get enough time to see everything (plus we went into the Arcade and won, pretty much everything).

I can't wait to relax with another one of these.
