Best Western City Moran, Prague Hotel Review

We're back from our trip to Prague, you may have already seen our daily trip report updates we posted a few days after we got back.

We stayed at the Best Western City Hotel Moran from March 13th-17th and we really didn't have any problems with the hotel - well, we had one, but it wasn't a big deal, i'll explain that later on.

The hotel is really well located, its just a few minutes walk from the Karlovo Námestí Metro station and around 10-15min walk from the I.P. Pavlova Metro Station, making it easy for you to get around, theres also a tram stop opposite the Karlovo Námestí Station if riding a tram is on your to do list for your trip.

Breakfast was included in our hotel price, although personally I didn't go down for it, but my fiancé did, he said there was a range of breads, sausages, bacon, eggs, fruit and cereal.

The hotel has a small 24 hour mini market available by reception, its a little higher priced than you'd find outside of the hotel, but its not overly expensive - at around 50kc for a bottle of Coca Cola (they're around 30-40kc elsewhere) so its convenient. There is a mini fridge in the hotel rooms so you can stock up on drinks elsewhere and store them in your room if you'd rather save a few pennies to spend elsewhere.

The rooms were a lot bigger than I expected considering we'd not paid very much for our hotel stay, i'll be uploading a video room tour to my YouTube channel so you can keep an eye out for that over at Youtube.com/elstoleno or i'll upload it here once its gone live on Youtube.

Now, like I said, we did have a small problem with the hotel, and that was when we tried to buy public transport tickets (we'd seen reviews on trip advisor saying you could buy them at the reception desk, and then in the information book in the room it said the same thing) but when we asked at the desk they said they didn't sell them and sent us to 'the station'. As they didn't tell us a specific station we walked to the closest one - but you cant buy the 72 hour ticket from a machine and Karlovo Námestí doesn't have a manned ticket desk (well, there was one there but it wasn't open) so we had to walk over to I.P. Pavlova and just hope they had a manned ticket desk open when we got there. Thankfully, they did.
