Newcastle Film & Comic Con

I went to Newcastle Film & Comic Con on March 29th, it was my first time visiting a showmasters event as i'd missed the first Newcastle Film & Comic Con event last year as my fiancé and I were in London celebrating his birthday.

I saw a few of my friends throughout the day, but quite a few of them couldn't get time off work during the weekend.

When I bought my tickets I was excited that Craig Charles and Robert Llewellyn we're going to be guests and give a Red Dwarf talk on the Saturday (I couldn't get a Saturday ticket so was planning on queueing up early to get one of the 2000 on the door tickets) but they both dropped out just a few days before the event.

I only visited the convention for around four or five hours, and spent the majority of it lurking around in the dealers room,, although it just didn't feel right being at a convention dealer room without their being an Animez stall! (the stalls had sold out when he enquired).

I ended up buying a lot of stuff! But there was one main item I found in the dealers room that I really wish I'd bought - but at the same time, I didn't want to spend £250 on it.

It was A SIGNED PHOTOGRAPH OF HARRISON FORD.

In short I ended up buying five POP! figures, a signed photograph of Johnny Rotten, a badge, and four poster prints, I also got given a free comic book by an artist and I think I'll probably be writing a bit about that on here once i've had a chance to read it. But that probably won't be until all these Easter shifts at work are over!

The POP! figures I bought at the convention were Stan Lee, GoGo Tomago, Iron Man Mark 43, Loki and Thor.

Did you go?
What did you think of the convention?
Are you going to anymore conventions this year?
