Walt Disney World

In September my fiancé and I travelled to Orlando, Florida and spent two weeks staying on-site at Walt Disney World.

We didn't visit the parks on our first day, so the highlights of our first day are shown in the two photographs below.

Magic Bands

These are fairly new to Walt Disney World, and are for on-site guests and AP holders. They hold your ticket information, your hotel key, you can put your bank card on there too - and they only take the money after you spend a certain amount so you don't get charged international fees for every purchase! My wrist was too small for the adult size, but they have an adjustment to make them smaller so I ended up with my band not having the black outline. These bands also hold your FastPass+ reservations and your Memory Maker information.

First visit badges! We got our first set of these at Disneyland California in August 2013.

Frozen Lemonade

For anyone who hasn't read my posts about Disneyland Resort, California, Minute Maid frozen lemonade is my absolute favourite US Disney Park snack/treat. I discovered them in California the year before where they were available at pretty much every icecream cart, but in Disney World they were much harder to find, I ended up having to go through every menu I could find on Google to find a cart that sold them, but it was worth it.

Downtown Disney

We spent our first night at Downtown Disney, its pretty much the same as Downtown Disney in California, but it is a bit bigger and more spread out (like the parks themselves), it became a tradition to pick up a blue raspberry icee from Goofy's Candy Co. on arrival and we took photos with the topiaries. The main reason we visited Downtown Disney so much was to visit DStreet and other stores that stocked Vinylmation, I managed to get a good deal on a few of them, and missed out on a few too when the people in front of me in the queue bought every box of reduced vinylmation they had! We also went on the balloon, its pretty much the same as Panoramagique in Disneyland Paris, except it was grounded the majority of the time due to wind and rain.

Frozen Summer Fun

I hadn't actually seen Frozen before this trip, but Frozen had taken over the studios park completely, so much so that a giant stage blocked most of your view of the sorcerer's hat. I did like these free souvenir fans that you got when you entered the park, and the fact that they made it snow - in Summer!

The Castle

I didn't actually get a good photograph of this castle as the parks were so busy, and at one point there was a crane in the way.
