Disney's California Adventure

I've visited all the Disney Parks in Paris, California and Florida (except the waterparks) and I have to admit, Disney's California Adventure is my favourite park hands down. I absolutely love it, and spent the majority of my time in this park. I actually missed being there so much I spent our last full day in LA on a day trip back to Disneyland, which I found and booked the evening before the trip, even knowing our annual passes weren't valid on the date as one of the run Disney marathons were taking place. But it was worth it just to be back there.

World of Color Dining Package

We booked the dining package at Ariel's Grotto as I was desperate to get the best viewing spot for World of Color. I'm a fussy eater and really didn't think i'd eat anything I ordered, especially since I didn't feel very well, but the chicken was really nice!

We booked an early table, so there was only around four or five other tables occupied during our sitting, so it was nice and quiet, we got looked after well and served quickly.

This isn't the fastpass we got from the reservation, we got this one a couple of days before but never made it to the show.

World of Color

We were in the wet zone so I didn't take any photos during the show - they really don't call it the wet zone for no reason!

Now, I don't even know where to start with this show. I wasn't sure anything could beat Dreams at Disneyland Paris, but this. Wow.

I recommend watching it on Youtube, even if you're going to go see it in person.

The music, colours and the general atmosphere of the crowd, it was all just so perfect.

I got pretty soaked in the wet zone, but in the California heat, it didn't bother me at all!

My only regret from this entire trip was only seeing this once.

Toy Story Midway Mania

Toy Story Midway Mania is similar to Astro Blasters, with a fixed gun like the Florida version. The queues are always quite long for this ride, around 30min, but that is much shorter than the queue you'll find in Florida (If you go to Disney World, prebook a fastpass for this!)

Its a 3d, spining, shooter ride. Lots of fun, and its a competition not only with the person you're with, but the two people on the back of your game cart too! At the end of the game it tells you who won in your cart and what their score was, and what the highest score of the day was overall.

Board Walk Games

Down from Toy Story Mania there is a selection of boardwalk games, they do cost actual money to play, but they have some very nice prizes. There was one I really really wanted and my fiancé played until he won him for me.

Thats the one!

We also won a lot of little starfish and horses, and I won the big bullseye horse after winning the full game against three or four other people. Even though i'm pretty sure I actually lost!

The boardwalk just had the nice, summer feel to it.

Grizzly River Run

This has to have been my favourite ride of the entire trip, at one point I think we went on it three or four times in a row. And I actually thought i'd hate it before the first time I went on! It always seemed to throw me down the hill backwards though!

The best thing about California is, within about 15min you'd be completely dry after going on this ride - and its a soaker!

Where as in Florida, I had to put my canvas shoes in the dryer as they hadn't dried after 9 hours!

Mad T Party

When we first discovered this I was completely surprised, you'd never see anything like this in Paris. Its similar to the Incredibles Dance Party in Walt Disney World, but aimed more at teens and young adults. Sadly I didn't take any photos, so heres another video link, and another one.

Its a nice place to hang with your friends at at night. I'd imagine it's appealing to locals with annual passes.

Cars Land

The newest part of Disney's California Adventure.

The land has three rides, Radiator Springs Racers being the main one, and probably the most sought after ride in the whole resort, Luigi's tires, and Maters Junk Yard Jamboree.

I liked all of the rides, but made sure I went on Radiator Springs Racers first thing in the morning pretty much every day I visited the parks! We won every race except our very last one.

We got milkshakes at Flo's V8, which came with souvenir glasses that we still use for milkshake now.

PhotoPass

As mentioned in the last post, PhotoPass got us a special experience in California Adventure. While walking down Cars Land we were stopped and offered some extra special photos, and a queue jump on Luigi's tires, including some on ride photos (not an option at this ride usually).

I'd love to know if they used the photos for anything.
Its a very difficult ride.
