Sunderland Illuminations 2016
Sunderland Illuminations were once again held in Roker Park this year, with the only difference being that you now needed to purchase a £1 ticket to gain entry into the park. A lot of people complained about this charge - but how do people expect the event to cover its costs? It's basically either that or put our taxes up, right?
With this new charge in place we found the park a lot less crowded, and there are plenty of new attractions, unlike the last couple of years where it was the same lights each year. The new lights and props also seem more expensive, they include moving attractions like the Dalek and a projection show (I suppose somewhat similar to Disney Dreams at Disneyland Paris) at the park's waterfall.
The event was a lot better this year, and i'm glad my favourite attraction - the lights in the pond, were also brought back this year.
