Summer Date Ideas

You may have also seen my autumn/winter date ideas post.

Picnic

What better than a lunch made together with love that you can take OUTSIDE?
Pack your favourite food, drinks and snacks and head to a nice, sunny and quiet location and spend the day just the two of you surrounded by nature.
When I was young, we used to have family picnics on Fulwell Quarry and at the beach. I'd love to explore the Quarry again, but now its a pretty dodgy area where all the bad kids and unemployed young adults hang out to drink and fight.

Beach

Living so close to the beach, my fiancé and I enjoy walking to and along the beach, picking up some chips and maybe an icecream along the way. Throwing stones into the water, making sandcastles and playing in the arcade are great ways to spend the summer evenings together.

Rockpools

Bored of walking up and down the sand?
This is a little more interesting.
You can find small fish, crabs and all sorts of other small sea creatures lurking in the shade at the rock pools!

Theme Parks

Disney have the best theme parks! But if thats not local to you, you could always go on a day trip to another theme park in your area! We have Flamingoland, Thorpe Park and Alton Towers here in the UK.

Parks/Walks/Adventure

This is a photograph of Fulwell Quarry, so you can see why i'm eager to reexplore the area!
Long walks in quiet and beautiful areas are ideal for summer dates. The area is so peaceful and except for a couple of dog walkers you might not even bump into another person.

Outdoor Cinema Screenings

We once saw Grease at an outdoor cinema screening in a local park, we don't get too many summer events in my area, but outdoor screenings are definitely something to look out for during the summer months!

Zoos/Day Trips

Ideal little breaks together to get out of your boring routine and city. Our favourite day trip is to Whitby and our favourite zoo to visit in the summer is South Lakes Safari Zoo. We usually book day trips with Durham City Coaches and Classic Coaches.

BBQ

Personal BBQs are lovely little date ideas.
Quiet enough to talk to each other properly while making tasty food together.
I love having little BBQs with my fiancé but we're having issues with our garden so we didn't manage to have a single BBQ last year, and i'm determined to have at least one this year! Even if I have to have the BBQ on the drive.
