May Home Update

To be honest, I was considering not publishing an update for May as very little has progressed since the April update.

Since May 2nd all we've done is get a new plastering quote for the rest of the house - landing, stairs, front room, living room, dining room and the extension. We've decided not to get the bathroom and kitchen ripped out and replastered until we're ready to have the whole room replaced.
We've booked in for July to have the work finished.

But, before we can get that done we need more electrical work done - two light fittings changed, two security lights installed, some light switch linking (ability to turn off the downstairs light from upstairs, and linking the living room and dining room switches), replacing a few socket plates, and moving the light switch in the office to the opposite wall (the door has clearly been installed on the wrong side, it opens straight into the wall rather than the open room!). We've had our electrician out to look around but he's not given us a price or his availability yet.

We have picked out our fence paint, we've gone for Ronseal Red Cedar.
We just need to paint the fence now - well, two sides, the left still needs replacing once the neighbours have finished getting work done.

Decluttering - we've finally made a start on this, and have two boxes worth of stuff for eBay sorted, the photographs have all been taken and around 1/3 of it has been listed so far.
We do have other boxes of stuff to sell on eBay too but we've been pretty busy recently.

We've finally decided what we're going to do with the front garden, after spending hours and hours looking around garden centres, B&Q, etc we've decided that rather than have a boarder of purple flowers we'll just have a boarder of slate chips or similar, we haven't managed to pick any out yet though.
