Avengers | Infinity War

The movie everybody has been waiting for — a movie which promised so much — was always going to disappoint, however, no matter what the disappointments, the high points of the movie are extremely high and extremely well done. This movie moves forward at a frantic pace, tearing from scene to scene and jumping between groups of hero’s so fast that sometimes it feels like they’re trying to cram too much in which could have easily moved over two or three movies. So at the end of the movie, we find The Avengers completely defeated. Mission failed. Thanos has succeeded… although did you expect anything else? If they beat Thanos here, how will there be an Avengers 4? There are some quite touching parts, humorous parts, plenty of action, and questions of morality. Thanos believes that he is doing something for the good of the universe in killing 1/2 of the living beings in it, at random. He even says that the success of his plan so far has backed him up, worlds which were hit with famine are now thriving because there is enough to go around. Thanos’ watched his own world turn to ruin because (in his eyes) people did not listen to him, and now he’s taking matters into his own hands for the good of the universe. Lots of people die here, with Thanos wiping out 50% of life in the universe, you can pretty much say that half the avengers / guardians etc die. Will they be gone forever? Not likely. At some point in the future, it feels like there will be a regrouping and somebody role back time using the Time stone, although whether this brings back just people Thanos killed using the Infinity Gauntlet or whether everybody comes back and has a singalong encore at the end of the next movie remains to be seen. I would give the movie 3/5, worth watching, not a good standalone movie, potentially might go up after Avengers 4 if some things were done to set up parts of that movie.
