We're Going Back To Japan!

You might have seen in some of my previous posts that we couldn't entirely decide on where to go on holiday next year. I wanted to go to China, my fiancé wanted to go around Europe (the original plan was China 2016, Europe 2017) but after Europe seemed a little boring we cancelled that (I can go on a four day holiday whenever I want I thought, but i've signed a new contract now so thats out of the window!) and switched to China, but after a little bit of Google searching we decided to scrap that for now too and decided that we'd go back to Japan!

I know we've only been back from Japan for a few months but we fell in love with it on our first evening and we tried to pack so much stuff into our trip that we had to decide between cutting things from our plans or not enjoying things as much as we could, so obviously we took the best choice and cut things from our plans, which means we still have a lot of ground to cover when we return next year!

We're going in September which means that the weather will be a lot cooler - the 47ºC heat was unbearable at times during our last trip, so at 27ºC as the average temperature in September we'll still be having hotter weather than we would at home during the summer.

This time we're thinking about maybe skipping getting a rail pass and just staying up in the Tokyo area as moving all of the time is where we lost a few days worth of our time, although I would like to revisit Okunoshima while the crowds are low, and see if I can track down my baby ginger bunny who came hopping out to me, i'd love to see how big he's grown.

We'll obviously be revisiting Tokyo Disneyland and DisneySea, and hopefully the crowds will be a little lower since the summer will be over, and ideally we could stay in an onsite hotel for our visit to the parks, but I guess we'll have to wait and see once the rooms are released because they sell out almost instantly! or they do for August at least.

This year Hays Travel couldn't book the Sakura Hotel Ikebukuro because they book all of their hotels through Expedia and Expedia is sold out during our dates, so we decided to book flight only with Hays, it cost more than booking direct with Air France and KLM but it meant our flights would be ATOL protected which is a definite plus when you're booking a long haul flight.

Currently on our list we have the Ghibli Museum (it's still a maybe, really), the Tokyo Tower, Tokyo Skytree, Cat Cafe (NekoBukuro?), visiting Shibuya, Harajuku, and Shinjuku as we never made it there last time, spending more time in Odaiba, maybe visiting Sanrio Puroland, taking a trip to Kamakura and visiting more temples and shrines.

We probably won't be climbing Mt Fuji again!
