The YouTube Partner Program

It's been a pretty hot topic the last couple of days so no doubt you'll all already be aware of the situation, but on the 17th, myself and many others found out we're going to be removed from the YouTube Partner Program unless we hit 1000 subscribers AND 4000 hours worth of views over 12 months by February 20th.

I remember way back when I originally joined the Partner Program, they were so desperate for new members that they emailed me an invite three times in the space of a few weeks.

But now, after being a member of the Partner Program for over half a decade i'll be losing my membership as i'm only at 209 subscribers and around 1500 hours of views/12 months.

I've only been posting seriously on my channel for around a year and a half, before that my uploads were sporadic.

It just seems pretty unfair that people who have worked hard on their channel for x amount of years will now lose their space in the Partner Program, it would have been much better if they just stopped accepting new members until they hit those thresholds.

I personally hope that people won't be so desperate to get back into the Partner Program that they go down the same route as Logan Paul to hit those sub/hour thresholds as all it'll take is one viral video to get them there.

Of course, being removed from the Program won't stop me uploading, I still have a planned out schedule until June 28th and i'm already considering Vlogust as we'll be in Japan at that time, and Vlogmas because we're planning to have a pretty good and busy Christmas season this year!

But ah well, here's hoping they change their minds or adjust their limitations.
