London Day One

As we were catching an early train from Sunderland to London we had to get up at 4:30 in the morning, that wouldn't be too bad only neither of us could sleep! I struggle to get to sleep quite often, but my fiancé was stuck in a big conversation with a lot of people he went to primary school with after he posted a photo of their year one class photograph. The conversation is still going on now! I'd tell you how many comments the photo has so far but Facebook seem to have removed the comment count.

The train ride was pretty uneventful, and boring, for most of the journey we couldn't get any mobile internet and the free wifi on the train is only worth about 15minutes of online time. We had taken comics and the iPad to keep us entertained over the journey but in the end we never took them out of the bag and spent the entire journey talking about a website we've been discussing relaunching.

We got to the hotel at around 11am, as usual we were staying at the Royal National Hotel, as check in doesn't open until 2pm we dropped off our bags into luggage storage and then headed out to Leicester Square. We decided to eat at Burger King (Ok, so thats pretty much the only place we ate the entire trip, I just love their Coke Freestyle machine and their fast service, also the free wifi).

While we were in the area we popped in to M&Ms World, but there was nothing new since my last visit in August, this trip was the only time i've visited M&M's World and not spent over £100!
We also visited Tokyo Toys and the shop next door to it which I believe was called Mosaic House I didn't buy anything in Tokyo Toys that visit as I had only gone in hoping to get more of the Naruto Chess Pieces but it seems like they mustn't sell them anymore now. In Mosaic House my fiancé bought me a Sage Naruto eye mask for sleeping on the plane to Japan.

We then headed over to Forbidden Planet, we've never been to the London Store before and its huge compared to the one in Newcastle. I was hoping to get the Magneto Funko POP but they didn't have him, they had quite a selection of them though, just none that I wanted. I was surprised to see some retro Cartoon Network cups, and later returned to get one on day three - they had Johnny Bravo, Dexter's Laboratory, Cow and Chicken, I am Weasel, Courage the Cowardly Dog and Ed, Edd n Eddy. In the end I picked up a birthday present for my little brother and a Funko Mystery Mini Domo for myself.

We then headed back to the hotel to check in as my fiancé had hurt his foot, I took a room tour video and we then unpacked before heading back out.

We went straight to Harrods and had a look around the Disney section as we'd missed it last year, we didn't spend much time in Harrods as it was really busy, it probably would have been better to visit on Monday before we went home. I picked up a gift for my Mam and one for my Nan before heading back out towards Covent Garden.

We just had a quick visit to Covent Garden as we were both feeling pretty tired after having next to no sleep, so we visited the Moomin Shop which is generally the reason I visit Covent Garden, they didn't have any Moomin biscuits this time though! I bought a coaster and my fiancé bought a Moomin clock for our bedroom, as its being redecorated and the Moomin fits the colour theme.

Back at the hotel my fiancé got us a garlic bread from Blooms to take back to the room and we settled down for the night watching Jonathan Ross before going to sleep.
