Home Update

So, our last update was back in July, so I thought it was about time we update you with what we've been up to and what we've managed to get done.

So, we still need to find an electrician to do some stuff outside for us, but we have had more plastering done! We've had the office plastered and fixed up, we bought the new fleece blanket I mentioned in the last update - along with a new Grinch blanket ready for Christmas.
The top of the stairs has been prepped ready to be plastered when the plasterer next comes back.

The plasterer mentioned we'll probably be able to get a cupboard put in under the stairs!
Now, this might not seem like a big deal, but its a huge major deal! Our house basically only has one built in cupboard and the boiler is in it, so we'll finally - possibly - be able to have some storage space! I'm so excited about this! But, we do need the plasterer and a bricklayer to come in and check it over properly first as the space inside is currently a cupboard inside of the garage but we'd rather block that off and have an inside cupboard instead.

But, as I may have said before, we're kind of jynxed and every time something goes right, something else goes terribly wrong. A few weeks after our bedroom was plastered we were hit by Storm Ali, and we discovered that water is coming in through our bedroom bay window!

It wasn't covered by our home insurance, so we've pushed back the rest of the plastering, and had the roof & felt fixed/replaced and had the back window felt replaced too, that isn't letting any water in but it's been raggy for a while so we know it'll need replacing soon either way. So we've managed to get that fixed, but now our bedroom needs replastering/patching as it got damaged when the roof got refelted!.

So here is our sad little house covered in scaffolding!

We've started to crack down with decluttering and listed 18 things on our eBay page on Saturday alone. For anyone else planning on decluttering, now is a great time to sell on eBay as everyone is looking out for bargains and stocking fillers for Christmas. We've still got so much more to list!

We also visited Wilko and picked up a few DIY bits, my fiancé then finally got around to caulking the bath.

So next on our to do list we have -

- cut the grass for the last time this year
- clean out the drive tiles
- find an electrician for outside
- get the stairs checked and a quote for the cupboard
- get the landing, stairs and entrance plastered
- eBay, eBay, eBay!
