LONDON 2017: Day One

We were up early to catch our train which was due just before 7am! So I think we both had around 4 hours sleep at most.

The train ride was pretty boring, I tried to nap, and there was a baby and toddler sat opposite us at our table. We charged our phones up throughout the ride and played some Disney Emoji Blitz.

Once we got to Kings Cross we headed for the tube to Russell Square and rushed over to the Royal National Hotel to drop off our case and my coat as it was around 16ÂșC! We couldn't really have asked for much better weather.

We then headed over to Leicester Square to get something to eat, the queue was pretty big in Shake Shack so we headed over to our usual eating spot - Burger King. It's not quite as special now that we have Coke Freestyle in Newcastle now too.

After we ate we spent a couple of hours going around Carnaby Street (there was nothing nice in Vans though!), Forbidden Planet (picked up some new Disney keyrings), Covent Garden (Moomin Shop) and the Japan Centre (Kirin Lemon!).

We then headed off to find the Prince Edward Theatre so we knew where we were going and how long it would take to get there later on as we had tickets to Aladdin!

We then tracked down Milk Train and waited in a 30min queue to try their amazing ice cream - it really was worth the wait!

We then headed back to the hotel as it was finally check in time, we had a little rest and got changed ready to head back out for some food before seeing Aladdin - we headed to Burger King again as it was so close to the theatre and service is so quick.

It was a bit of a faff to get back to the hotel after we visited Milk Train as there was a football match on and Covent Garden was absolutely packed! They ended up closing the station, i've seen an article since then saying it was due to football hooligans setting off flares in the station entrance.
We ended up walking to Leicester Square station, which was really busy and full of chanting football fans.

We got to the theatre around an hour before Aladdin started and picked up a couple of souvenirs while we waited - including the cutest Genie bear!

After the show my fiancé wasn't feeling well and I was pretty tired so we headed back to the hotel to get some sleep. I wish we'd stayed up though but most things were due to close within the hour and the Lego Store was already closed. We ended up not being able to visit the store as the queue to get in was always so long!
