10 days to go!

Its time for our 10 days to go update!

Right now we're in the middle of trying to figure out wether or not we want to/should attempt to climb Mt Fuji. It takes a chunk of time out of our trip so we'd probably go in the morning and down in the evening (missing sunrise/sunset) to fit it all in one day instead of two, the plus side is its supposed to be quieter in the morning rather than the afternoon, as people start going up in the afternoon to reach the summit for sunset.

I just really want to get a stick and have it stamped all the way to the top.

If we decide to do it we might book a hotel the night before (we already have plans to visit Fuji one morning, if we're already at a hotel we'd be able to take photos and then leave the camera rather than take it up Fuji with us!) and we'd need to rent the kit.

[It looks like we're going to do it, but we'll need to book a hotel, hire hiking equipment, rearrange the timetable and figure out how to get the hiking stick home]

We've decided that we're going to pick up a couple of tent-pole bags from Halfords incase we need to check in our Fuji sticks, then we'll pick up some poster tubes while we're in Japan to protect them a bit. We're not prebooking am extra piece of luggage because Air France said on Facebook that because of the size I might just be able to tie it to my case and it'll do through fine like that, if not then I just need to pay €100 at check in - but I think if I can't get it posted I might call up and prebook another case just to make sure I can definitely get it on that flight.

We managed to finally pick up the jacket and socks my fiancé needed.

And i've pretty much broken in my shoes, but i'm going to take my old, comfy ones too (rain forecast and a lot of walking!) so i'm not going to take my Donald Duck ones either, they're not as comfy as my other shoes.

I picked up the last of my Yen.

We've ordered a bluetooth remote for our iPhone's so we can use our selfie stick without sticking it on timer (it was a pain to use self timer in Paris, we'd rather not go through that again in areas that are even more crowded!).

We're still finding more things we want to squeeze in so we need to do a final redraft of our timetable.

We still don't have firework tickets so we'll have to figure out where to stake out a spot to watch it.

I've been in the loft and dug out my shorts, and i've lost my flight socks (Every. Single. Year) so i'm going to buy a new pair of those.

I've got out my luggage scales, handheld fan, plug adapters, TSA locks, and mosquito aftercare stuff so I pretty much have everything out of the loft now except my case as its still a bit early to have that getting in the way.

I got a new hairdryer, I don't know for sure if it will work as it runs on 110V, but Argos specifically mention Japan in the description of it. I tried asking them on Twitter before I bought it but they just said "It says Worldwide voltage so it will work worldwide". I have another world wide travel hairdryer that doesn't even go as low as 110V..

The main thing I need to do now is get my hair cut.
