Disneyland Paris - Day 1
On Monday we had a very early start - our alarms were set for around 2am! and our taxi came at 3:45. We ended up getting to the airport a little earlier than we'd planned to, but it gave us a bit of time to relax before our flight.
I saw this Santa hat wearing Chupa Chup in one of the duty free shops, but my fiancé wouldn't cave in and buy it. But it's wearing a hat!
We ended up missing our bus to the hotel as passport control was really busy, which is really unusual for Paris at that time of the morning, but i'm guessing it probably has something to do with the extra checks and security being taken out now.
We made it to the hotel for 11am, and our room was ready for once! We quickly put on our thermals and then headed out to the parks.
Our plan was to rush straight over to Casey's Corner for lunch, but as we approached Main Street the Christmas parade was just starting, so we watched and enjoyed the snowfall before rushing off to eat, we ended up heading to Cafe Hyperion instead as Main Street was understandably packed because of the parade.
After lunch we went on our first ride of the trip, which was of course, Buzz Lightyear's Laser Blast.
We headed through to Fantasyland and picked up a candy floss, its something my family and I used to do on every trip, but as my fiancé and I have only visited together during Christmas and Valentines its always been cold and we've decided against getting one. But this time it just had to be done!
We went on a few rides - I never seem to make a list of which rides and when, but i'm guessing Pirates of the Caribbean and Phantom Manor were definitely on the list for our first day.
On our way back we paid a visit to the dragon under the castle.
The weather forecast for our two full days looked pretty rainy, so we decided that no matter how tired we were (he hadn't gone to sleep the night before!) that we'd definitely stay in the parks for the Tree lighting ceremony and Dreams on our first night. We took a quick trip to Disney Village and our hotel to drop our shopping off before heading back into the parks for the lighting ceremony and dreams.
Here's a few photographs from our first night.
Here's my video of Disney's Christmas Parade
Here's my video of Mickey's Magical Christmas Lights
And here is our video of Disney's Dreams of Christmas
