DIY Chocolate Photo Frame
Back when I was in college I came across this Deco Choco video by Ochikeron and decided to make one for my fiancé (then boyfriend) for Valentines day.
This is the one I made back then.
This year we decided to stretch out our Valentines celebration across the month of February (we do Valentines different every year! We've even done the one gift every day from the 1st-14th February thing!) and made a chocolate photoframe together. We used a photograph from our most recent trip to Japan, although really, we still have the trimmed down photograph from the original frame stuck in the bedroom mirror so we could have just used that!.
Here is a set of instructions to make your own, or you could always click the YouTube link above and visit the video I watched before making our original frame!
Step One -
Gather your ingredients.
You will need 3 bars of chocolate, a photograph and some sweets.
Step Two -
Open up your bars of chocolate and decide which one will be your base.
Step Three -
Make the other two bars shorter.
Step Four -
Cut your photograph to size and wrap it in clingfilm.
Step Five -
Melt the spare pieces of chocolate you removed from the two shorter bars.
Step Six -
Put melted chocolate along the base bar where you will be attaching your two shorter bars.
Step Seven -
Add the two shorter bars and rest them together.
Step Eight -
Add more melted chocolate to the top to bind the two short bars together.
Step Nine -
Paint the back of your clingfilmed photograph with melted chocolate and stick it to your frame.
Step Ten -
Decorate!
Add sweets and secure them with melted chocolate.
Step Eleven -
Give it as a gift and/or enjoy!
