Tomorrowland Review

Image
Last night my fiancé and I went to the cinema to see Tomorrowland, I wasn't too sure how much i'd like this movie, the trailer was interesting but I just still wasn't convinced that this movie would be exceptional. I was wrong, I absolutely loved this movie, so much that waiting for the train home the first thing I did was search eBay for a Tomorrowland pin. I haven't ordered one, yet, but at least I know I can get one within two days! I'm not much of a review writer, so i'll just say this: go see it, make up your own mind on this movie. It has a very motivational storyline, for creative people anyway. And its kickstarted my 'productive year' back up, since watching it i've set some new plans and goals. As I just mentioned, i'm not much of a review writer, so here is my fiancé's review. "Tomorrowland is a sci-fi movie in which a girl called Casey is the only person who can save the world. She is given a pin which gives...

Travel Planning - New Purchases

Image
When I was looking around online before my trip to Florida last year I came across the Cocoon Grid-it but decided not to get one. I recently saw that they are on the online Apple Store so ventured to my local store hoping they would have some in stock and I could see one in person before I bought one, they didn't have one so I took the plunge anyway bought one from Amazon as it was a bit cheaper and I wasn't entirely sure if this was right for us. This is the medium grid-it, its quite small, but very heavy for what it is, so if you buy one, bare that in mind if you're travelling because of your weight allowance limits. I bought a two pack of 32GB U3 SDHC cards in the same order, meaning my cards (excluding compact camera) totals 250GB of storage, although i'm not entirely sure why I still have two 1GB cards in my Lowepro holder! I also have a couple of batteries for my Panasonic HX-DC2 arriving somewhere between today and the 29th of June, I hope the...

Japan Trip Planning Update!

Image
Hello! I've been really busy planning our Japan trip when i've not been at work recently so sorry for the lack of posts here, but heres a quick update on what we have planned for Japan now, the previous update can be found here . We bought our Green car Japan Rail Pass on Sunday and it arrived on Tuesday. We bought them from JTB and they sent them out first class post. I didn't think we'd get them so soon as the website asked what the latest date you could accept them and we put something like July 31st. We can't make our train reservations until we get there but we'll be having three very busy and tiring days as long as we can get onto the trains we want, heres the current train schedule plan that I found through HyperDia. Tokyo – Kyoto 7am [arrives 10:11am] Kyoto – Hiroshima 19:49pm [arrives 10:33pm] Hiroshima – Osaka 8:06 train  [arrive 10am] Osaka – Tokyo – 7:27pm [arrives 11:12pm] / 7:02pm[arrives 10:45...

Cardcaptor Sakura

Image
Yesterday, I visited Animez in Newcastle, I went in specifically to get two figures (although in the end I changed my mind and chose a different version of Sakura to the one I was originally going to get. Below are the 12 different figures you have to choose from. Animez currently has a lot of them in stock at £10 each, they don't seem to be on the website but if you don't live near the store i'm sure you will be able to set up an order through the Facebook page or eBay account . I chose the first flying Sakura figure as it comes with Kero, and the first Tomoyo/Maddison figure. I do like the winking version of Maddison too so I might have to get that version next! I originally was going to get the first Sakura on the above picture but it doesn't come with Kero. I like them all really, and really want to watch the show all over again! I took a few shots of the Sakura figure against the window with a nice shallow depth of field to a...

Foo Fighters At The Stadium Of Light

Image
Ok, i'm going to start from the very beginning of the day. A bank holiday off work is rare for me so I wanted to make the most of it. My fiancé and I headed into town in the morning, I was looking to pick up a few things for our holiday but I couldn't find anything. I need to print a copy of my check list before I go shopping next time. We got some food before heading back to the house to wait for Jess. After Jess arrived we headed straight out, and after missing a Metro by seconds we decided just to walk from Seaburn to the Stadium of Light. It took a while but we still arrived there by around 2:30, there wasn't much of a queue by then to be honest, and once we got into the Stadium at 4pm, we were only around 6 rows from the front, and in an ideal location stage position wise. On the walk there we saw a couple of these lost cat posters, but we're not sure if they're actually serious or not, but its a nice drawing of a cat either way. Here...

My Sunday

Image
Two 'Sunday' posts in a row! I've basically been at work the entire month so haven't had any time to do anything else that I could write about! So here was my day: I got up at 6am and got ready to start work, I was going in for an early 8am start! The shift went really quickly as it was crazy, so much running! I finished work at 4:30 and went over to my fiancé's house with my Mam, we put up some of our new furniture (maybe i'll put up a post for that later). And ok, so by 'we' I actually mean, I wandered into the kitchen while my fiancé and Mam put the furniture together, I went in there to find food, and in the end broke the garage door. Its fixed now, but theres definitely something wrong when I can push a door to put the second lock in and it just pushes 3 inches too far and jams :') I dropped my Mam back off at home and then my fiancé and I headed to the beach. We got something to eat and then wandered into the arcade for a little wh...

Sunday Evening & The Early Birthday Present

Image
On Sunday evening (last Sunday, the 17th of May) I met my fiancé and gave him his new Apple watch when I finished work and we walked down to the beach to get some food. You can read more about the Apple Watch here - my fiancé wrote a review of the watch after having it for a few days. He's really enjoying having it, and its even urged him to do more exercise, he even went for a run yesterday! The watch tracks your movements and will let you know how much exercise you've done. We walked through the cemetery, as we do every Spring, to admire the blossoms, I spent a while taking photos of the trees and the flowers, while my fiancé made himself familiar with all the settings and apps on his Apple Watch. I really liked the above photograph, it wasn't set up, I just noticed the flower laying there when I was taking some photographs of the fallen petals. I think the depth of field has worked well with this photograph. After taking a few photographs of th...
